Suite hotel for 4 adults - recommendations please

Question

Hi , we're going to be spending 5 days in San Diego in August and are two adults and two older teenagers who will need their own beds. But we can only really afford one bedroom so are looking for a nice hotel that can accommodate us. Are there any good quality hotels that might fit the bill. We're not looking for 5 star luxury, but at the same time we woud like it to be a bit nicer than a Marriott Renaissance type motel

In terms of location we're open as long as we are close enough to all the main touristy areas. I have been looking at La Jolla Shores as well as Ocean Beach and Sunset Cliffs - and am open to advice.

Alternatively, if we can't find a nice hotel I might also look at AIr BNB/Vrbo options if that would be better
