Where to stay in Laguna Beach with Teens

Where should we stay in Laguna Beach in March that offers 2 bedrooms or separate sleeping spaces with activities for teen girls close by? Beach, shopping, sights, nature, etc? We will spend about 4 days before heading up to the Anaheim area for Disney fun. Thank you!

Laguna Beach is a great choice for a 4-day stay with teens, as it offers a combination of beach, shopping, art, and outdoor activities. Since you’re looking for accommodations with 2 bedrooms or separate sleeping spaces, vacation rentals, condos, or boutique hotels with suites are usually the best options.

For March, the weather is mild but can be a bit cooler, so having indoor space plus easy access to outdoor activities is ideal. Staying near downtown Laguna Beach or South Laguna gives you easy walking access to shops, restaurants, and the beach, while North Laguna tends to be quieter and close to nature trails.

  • Vacation Rentals/Condos: Websites like Airbnb or Vrbo offer multiple 2-bedroom condos or homes, often with amenities like pools, kitchens, and living areas for teens to hang out. Look for properties near Main Beach or downtown for convenience.
  • Surf & Beach Access: Staying near Main Beach or Thousand Steps Beach provides easy access to sand and water activities, plus local surf schools if the teens are interested in lessons.
  • Proximity to Shops and Art: Downtown Laguna has a mix of boutique shops, art galleries, and cafes. The monthly Art Walk (if your trip coincides) can be a fun cultural experience for teens.

For activities with teens:

  • Laguna Coast Wilderness Park offers hiking trails suitable for teens, with scenic ocean views and nature exploration.
  • Heisler Park has tide pools, walking paths, and picnic spots right by the beach.
  • Kayaking or paddleboarding rentals from the beach can provide fun active options.
  • Explore local art: The Laguna Art Museum or street art around downtown can be engaging.
  • Drive along Pacific Coast Highway to nearby beaches and scenic viewpoints like Crystal Cove State Park.

In terms of accommodation style, renting a two-bedroom condo or a home close to the beach/downtown provides flexibility for your family. Look for places with outdoor patios, pools, or easy beach access to keep the teens entertained without long drives. Booking early is recommended for March, as spring break crowds start to arrive.
