Mollie or Limelight - 1 night?
Hello - I am visiting Aspen for the first time in April. I have one night to stay in the Aspen village before flying home and can't decide between Mollie and Limelight. Any strong recommendations for one vs. the other? Thank you!!!
For a one-night stay in Aspen village, both the Hotel Aspen (Mollie) and the Limelight Aspen are excellent choices, but they cater to slightly different experiences and styles. Your choice depends on whether you prefer a quieter boutique vibe or a livelier, modern atmosphere.
Here are some key considerations:
- Hotel Aspen / Mollie:
- Classic Aspen boutique hotel, known for its cozy and traditional mountain lodge feel.
- Quieter atmosphere, great if you want a restful night before flying out.
- Located very close to central Aspen shops and restaurants, so convenient for a short walk around town.
- Less emphasis on nightlife or pool scene.
- Limelight Aspen:
- More modern, contemporary hotel with a lively, social atmosphere.
- Often has a pool, hot tub, and bar area that attract guests for après-ski or evening drinks.
- Central location in Aspen, easy walking access to restaurants, galleries, and nightlife.
- Feels more energetic and trendy, which might be fun for a first-time visit if you want to soak in the Aspen vibe.
Other factors to consider for a one-night stay:
- Price – sometimes Limelight is slightly more expensive than Mollie, but the difference may be worth it for the modern amenities.
- Parking – both offer on-site or valet parking, but check if you are renting a car for convenience.
- Personal preference – if you want a quiet, classic lodge feel, go with Mollie. If you want a trendy, lively scene, choose Limelight.
Summary recommendation:
- If your priority is rest, classic Aspen charm, and a cozy boutique experience: Hotel Aspen / Mollie.
- If your priority is modern amenities, lively atmosphere, and a trendy social vibe: Limelight Aspen.
Given that it is only one night, either hotel works well for walking into town, so it ultimately depends on whether you want energy or calm for your brief stay.
