Can anyone tell if if We can get from BW Cocoa Beach Hotel, N. Atlantic Drive to Kennedy Space Center via public transportation. We have 5 adults and 3 kids. We already have our passes. Thank you

Getting from Cocoa Beach to the Kennedy Space Center without a car can be a bit challenging, as public transportation options are limited and schedules may not be convenient for a full day at the Space Center. Here’s what you need to know:

The Kennedy Space Center is located about 30–35 minutes north of Cocoa Beach by car, but there is no direct public bus or shuttle that runs from Cocoa Beach hotels to the Space Center. For a group of 5 adults and 3 kids, the options are:

  • Shuttle services/tours: Some companies operate day trips from Cocoa Beach or nearby areas directly to Kennedy Space Center. These are pre-booked and typically include round-trip transport. They are convenient but may need reservations in advance, especially during peak tourist times.
  • Taxi or rideshare: Options like Uber or Lyft can take you from your hotel to the Space Center. It’s faster and more flexible than public transport, but costs can add up for a group of eight, potentially $60–$100 each way.
  • Car rental for the day: Even if you don’t normally rent a car, renting for a single day is often the easiest way to get a group of this size to the Space Center. It gives you the flexibility to arrive early and leave when you want without relying on strict schedules.

Public buses in Brevard County (Brevard County Transit) can get you from Cocoa Beach to Titusville or nearby areas, but the routes are indirect, infrequent, and not convenient for a full-day visit. Transfers would be required, and travel times could take 2–3 hours one way, making it impractical with kids.

In summary, for a family or group of eight, the most practical options are a private shuttle, rideshare, or renting a car for the day. Public transit is technically possible but very cumbersome and not recommended for families with children.
