LIghtning Pass
Do I understand correctly that once you buy a lightning pass, as you use each one, you can add another one? This can go on the entire day?
Thanks!
Yes, you’ve basically understood it correctly. At Walt Disney World, the Lightning Lane / Genie+ system works like this:
When you purchase Genie+ (which gives you access to the Lightning Lane for many attractions), you can make one Lightning Lane selection at a time. After you use that selection (or the ride window passes), you are then eligible to make another Lightning Lane selection. This process repeats throughout the day until the park closes or the Genie+ availability runs out.
- You can make your first selection starting at 7:00 AM if you’re staying at a Disney Resort, or at park opening if offsite.
- After using your first Lightning Lane, you can immediately make the next selection through the app.
- You continue this “use and book again” cycle, so in theory you could have multiple Lightning Lane experiences in one day, covering many attractions.
Additional notes:
- Some highly popular rides may run out of Lightning Lane availability, so the ability to “stack” is limited by availability.
- Individual Lightning Lane attractions (like Tron Lightcycle or Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance) are not included in Genie+ and must be purchased separately.
- There may be timing restrictions, for example, you cannot hold two Lightning Lane selections simultaneously unless certain conditions are met (like the “2-hour rule” if park opens later).
So yes, as long as you continue to use each Lightning Lane, you can keep adding new ones throughout the day, maximizing the number of rides you experience with shorter waits.
