Pool heating

Hi we have rented a villa in Orlando in March for the pool to be heated is an extra £400 has anyone got any advice at that time of year would we need it heated or not thanks gwyn

In Orlando, March is generally considered the tail end of winter/early spring. Daytime temperatures typically range from the low 70s°F (21–23°C), while nights can drop into the 50s°F (10–15°C). While the weather is pleasant for sightseeing and outdoor activities, unheated pools can feel quite chilly, especially in the mornings or evenings.

Here are some considerations to help you decide whether the extra £400 for pool heating is worth it:

  • Personal comfort: If you or anyone in your group is sensitive to cooler water or if you plan to swim in the mornings or evenings, heated pools are highly recommended.
  • Children or seniors: Heated pools are much more comfortable for younger children or older adults who may find cooler water uncomfortable.
  • Swimming frequency: If you plan to spend a lot of time in the pool throughout the day, heating will make the experience far more enjoyable.
  • Alternative options: Some villas have spas or hot tubs that are heated and can provide warmth if you don’t want to heat the entire pool.

On the other hand, if you only plan a few quick dips during the warmest part of the day, the pool may be tolerable without heating. Many guests report that unheated pools in March are refreshing but brisk, especially first thing in the morning.

In summary, if budget allows and you value comfortable swimming at any time of day, paying for pool heating is generally worth it in March. If you’re mainly using the pool briefly during midday, you could potentially skip it.
