We are headed to Orlando in mid May and planned to use Lyft from the airport and hotel.
We are flying with JetBlue I just noticed that they also can book your ground transportation to and from the airport. It works out to $40 each way, which is comparable to what I’ve been pricing with Lyft and Uber. However, they wait for you and should be there when we arrive.
The last time I landed at MCO to order a lift it took us over an hour and a half in the hot sun waiting, all the rides kept cancelling and we ended up just hiring someone on the spot for triple the price
So I’m thinking maybe pre-booking would be a better idea as anyone use the JetBlue ground transfer service?
It sounds like you had a frustrating experience with Lyft at MCO, and pre-booking a transfer with JetBlue could be a great solution to avoid the wait and uncertainty of finding a ride. Here's what you should know about JetBlue's ground transfer service:
JetBlue does offer ground transportation services through a partnership with a third-party provider, typically a shuttle or private car service, depending on availability. Many travelers have found it convenient because it offers a set price ($40 each way, as you mentioned), and the vehicle will be waiting for you when you arrive, eliminating the stress of trying to get a ride after a flight.
Based on customer feedback, JetBlue's ground transfer service has generally been reliable, especially when compared to the uncertainty of using Lyft or Uber, particularly at busy times like when you arrived last time. Here are a few pros and cons:
If your previous experience with Lyft was particularly stressful and you’re concerned about that happening again, JetBlue's pre-booked service seems like a good alternative. The set price and guaranteed pickup may help reduce any uncertainty or anxiety when you arrive in Orlando.
Overall, if you value peace of mind and prefer to have transportation waiting for you when you arrive, the JetBlue ground transfer service is worth considering. However, if you're okay with some flexibility and a potentially faster option if you don't mind waiting a bit, Lyft and Uber could still be viable choices.
