Pool day passes

Hi! My family is visiting Captiva in a week and we’re wondering if anyone has recs for pools that offer day passes on either Captiva or Sanibel? We have two little kids and would love to get a little pool play time along with beach combing. Thank you!

Captiva Island and Sanibel are beautiful spots, and it sounds like you’re planning a great trip with your family! If you’re looking for pools that offer day passes for some poolside relaxation and playtime with your little ones, here are some options you can consider on both islands:

  • The South Seas Island Resort (Captiva Island) - This resort is one of the more popular spots on Captiva, and they sometimes offer day passes for their pools. The South Seas Island Resort has multiple pools, including some family-friendly options with shallow areas for younger children. It’s a great spot if you’re also looking to enjoy the beach and nearby amenities. Check with the resort ahead of time to confirm day pass availability, as they may vary depending on the season or booking demand.
  • Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa (Sanibel Island) - Although located on the mainland side near Fort Myers, this resort offers stunning views and a family-friendly pool area. While primarily a hotel for guests, they may offer day passes to local visitors for access to their pool and amenities. They have a large outdoor pool and kid-friendly areas, so it could be a nice option for a relaxing pool day.
  • Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa (Captiva Island) - Located on Captiva, Tween Waters is another great family resort that may offer access to their pools via day passes. Their pool area is well-suited for families with small kids, and they also have direct beach access. It’s worth checking with them to see if day passes are available for non-guests, especially if you're looking to enjoy the pool along with beach time.
  • Sanibel Island Beach Resort (Sanibel Island) - While not always offering day passes, this smaller resort on Sanibel Island may allow access to their pool area for a fee, especially during the off-season. The pool is more intimate, which might be ideal if you’re looking for a quieter experience with younger children. It's worth calling ahead to inquire.
  • The Island Inn (Sanibel Island) - This is a quieter, charming spot on Sanibel with a pool area that is family-friendly. While they don’t always advertise day passes, you might be able to inquire about pool access if you're planning to spend time on the island. The small, laid-back nature of the inn might make it an appealing option for a casual pool day with the kids.

Additionally, many of the resorts in the area may offer day passes if you're booking other services, like spa treatments or dining, so it's always a good idea to ask if they have flexibility on pool access for non-registered guests. Be sure to call ahead and confirm the availability of passes before you go, as policies can change depending on the time of year or booking availability.

Enjoy your trip, and I hope your family has a fantastic time with both beachcombing and poolside fun!
