Bellagio Room Upgrade

We will be staying at Bellagio 3/9-3/12 to attend a wedding. We booked using a room block (all base rooms). Last night I received an email from Bellagio giving us several upgrade options that are not guaranteed. It's just me and my wife and it's our first trip to LV so we really wanted a fountain view. Upgraded to a king FBLV for $34 additional a night which seems fair. They offered suites but none said anything about a FV so I passed. For those that know are the Salone Strip View ($101 extra a night) and Bellagio Suites ($167 extra per night) a worthy upgrade over the basic King FV room?

Your desire for a fountain view at the Bellagio is definitely understandable—it’s one of the most iconic and memorable experiences in Las Vegas! Based on your options, here’s a breakdown of whether the upgrades are worth it compared to the base King Fountain View (FV) room:

First, the King Fountain View room is a great choice—it provides stunning views of the Bellagio fountains, which can be a major highlight during your stay. At $34 extra per night, upgrading to a King Fountain View with the added comfort of a king bed seems like a reasonable price if you want to guarantee that view. If you’re looking for that quintessential Vegas experience, it’s definitely worth considering.

  • Salone Strip View ($101 extra per night): This room offers a view of the Las Vegas Strip, which can be quite scenic, especially at night with all the neon lights. However, this upgrade will not include a fountain view, which is likely what you are after. For a first-time trip to Las Vegas, the Strip views are great, but if you’re set on the fountain experience, this may not be the best option. It is a bit pricier, and it lacks the iconic fountain backdrop you’re hoping for.
  • Bellagio Suite ($167 extra per night): The Bellagio Suites offer a more spacious experience with upgraded amenities, including more living space, a separate sitting area, and higher-end finishes. While these suites can provide a luxurious experience, they don’t specifically guarantee a fountain view (unless you specifically request it, which might be available but not guaranteed). If you value extra space and an upgraded experience over the fountain view, this could be a good choice, but the price difference is significant. You’ll be paying quite a bit more for a larger room without the fountain view guarantee.

If your main priority is the fountain view, I’d recommend sticking with the King Fountain View room for the additional $34 per night—it’s a great deal for that iconic view. While the suite upgrades offer more space and luxury, they don’t necessarily provide the view you’re seeking and might not justify the higher cost, especially if it’s your first time in Vegas.

That said, if you’re looking to splurge and enjoy more luxury and amenities during your stay, the Bellagio Suite could be a fantastic option if the view is secondary to the experience. Ultimately, if you’re looking to maximize the Vegas experience with a fantastic view of the fountains, I’d recommend sticking with the King Fountain View room at the more reasonable upgrade price.

Enjoy your trip to Vegas, and congratulations on the wedding!
