Restaurant Help

Only 4 nights in KW and so many great restaurants. If you had to skip one breakfast and one dinner which would it be? (Traveling with husband, 10 and 13 yr old sons, and parents). If I'm missing something that's a must try please let me know also. Thank you.

Breakfast:

Blue Heaven, 2 Friends Patio, Breakfast Club too, Moondog Cafe, Harpoon Harry's

Dinner: Lattitudes, Conch Republic, DJs clam shack, Onlywood, Garbos Grill, A&B Lobster House.

Key West is definitely a culinary hotspot, and with only four nights, it can be tough to hit all the standout spots. Based on your list and the mix of family-friendly versus more tourist-focused options, here’s a detailed suggestion for which meals you could potentially skip and what to prioritize.

For breakfast, all the spots you mentioned have their own charm, but if you had to skip one, it would likely be:

  • Moondog Cafe: While very good, it’s a bit smaller and more casual, and you’re already hitting standout places like Blue Heaven and 2 Friends Patio which offer unique atmospheres and signature dishes.

This way, you still experience the quintessential Key West breakfast vibe and outdoor dining atmosphere that families and grandparents will enjoy at Blue Heaven, the hearty offerings at 2 Friends Patio, and the cozy, classic feel of the Breakfast Club.

For dinner, with such a wide selection, the one you could skip might be:

  • Garbos Grill: While good, it’s a more casual sandwich-and-grill type option. Since you’ll have unique experiences like Lattitudes for an upscale meal on Sunset Key, DJ’s Clam Shack for fresh seafood, and Onlywood for Italian fare, skipping Garbos allows you to maximize variety without missing anything iconic.

Additional must-try recommendations for your group include:

  • Latitudes: Even if you’ve already listed it, this is a standout experience with sunset views and a memorable dining experience that is worth prioritizing for one of your dinners.
  • DJ’s Clam Shack: A casual, authentic seafood spot perfect for kids and adults alike.
  • Blue Heaven: Don’t miss the famous Key West pancakes or lobster eggs benedict.
  • Conch Republic Seafood Company: Offers a classic Key West seafood vibe and family-friendly options.

Overall, focus on variety and experiences: a signature Key West breakfast, casual family-friendly breakfast, classic seafood dinner, upscale sunset dinner, and Italian or local fare to balance the trip. Skipping Moondog Cafe and Garbos Grill allows you to maximize both food quality and memorable Key West dining experiences.
