Finding Air China Flight and Mobile App
Hi, I'm trying to find my Air China flight which i booked through a third party but their website isnt recognizing it. Looking online some people have suggested that i try the Air China App and sign on to it but i have a problem with apostrophe in my lastname. When using the App should i drop the apostrophe in it say from O'Keith to OKeith or O Keith (with a space) if anyone has any experience of this given it wont match my passport? Also should first and middle name be joined?
If i'm unable to sign on to app or check in before hand is it ok to just turn up at heathrow and do it the old way?
Thanks
If your booking was made through a third party and the Air China website or app is not recognizing your flight, there are a few practical steps to handle this issue smoothly:
Regarding the Air China mobile app and your last name with an apostrophe:
- Most airline apps do not accept special characters such as apostrophes, hyphens, or accents. For your last name "O'Keith," you should typically enter it as "OKeith" without any space or apostrophe. Do not insert a space unless the name naturally has one.
- For first and middle names, if your passport shows them separately, enter them separately with a space. Do not combine them unless the app specifically requests a single string.
- The goal is to match the spelling as closely as possible to your passport, but minor alterations like dropping an apostrophe are generally accepted for app login purposes. Check-in counters will always prioritize the passport name itself.
If you are unable to sign in or check in online:
- It is completely acceptable to check in at the airport counter at Heathrow. Arrive at least 3 hours before your international departure to allow sufficient time for counter check-in and security procedures.
- Bring your passport, booking confirmation email, and any reference number provided by the third-party booking site. Airline staff can retrieve your reservation using these details.
- If possible, print your itinerary or save a screenshot on your phone, as it can help smooth the process at the counter.
In summary, drop the apostrophe in your last name when using the app, keep first and middle names separate as on your passport, and don’t worry about online check-in; arriving early at the airport and checking in at the counter is a reliable fallback.
