Going to PCB end of April for 11 days. As a retired couple we like tiki bars, shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Thinking about Beachside Resort but wanted other's advice. Thank you
Panama City Beach (PCB) is a wonderful destination for a relaxing beach vacation, and there are several great options for accommodations, especially for a retired couple who enjoys tiki bars, shopping, and restaurants within walking distance. Beachside Resort is a solid choice, but I can give you a few other recommendations based on your preferences for a beachfront location and nearby amenities.
Beachside Resort: This hotel is a great option, offering direct beach access and a laid-back atmosphere. The location is convenient for walking to nearby restaurants and shops, and it has a nice tiki bar for enjoying drinks with a view. It's a smaller, more relaxed property compared to some of the larger resorts, so it can offer a quieter experience, which is often a plus for retirees. However, it’s still close to all the main attractions in PCB, including St. Andrews State Park, Pier Park, and other dining spots.
As for tiki bars, Spinnaker Beach Club and Shuckums Oyster Pub are local favorites. Both are within a short drive or a longer walk from many of the beachfront accommodations. For shopping, Pier Park is a must-see, offering a wide range of stores, restaurants, and entertainment, all within walking distance from several beachfront properties. It’s great for browsing boutiques, grabbing a bite, or enjoying the sunset.
If you're looking for a quieter, more relaxed vibe with access to local shops, bars, and restaurants, Beachside Resort is a good option. However, there are other places nearby that might offer a similar experience with a few different amenities, so I recommend checking them out to see which one fits your needs best.
