which grandstand for sunday grand prix?

Hi!

I've rounded it down to Grandstand 36 or 30 for the Sunday Grandprix race. Just curious which you would recommend. Or is there another grandstand that you think is best? There are 3 of us going- 2 adults and 1 twelve year old. And do they rent ear protection there? Or is it best to bring our own?

Thanks!

Attending the Long Beach Grand Prix is an exciting experience, and choosing the right grandstand can really enhance your day, especially with a 12-year-old in tow.

Grandstand options:

  • Grandstand 36: Located along the front straight, this grandstand provides a great view of cars accelerating out of the hairpin and onto the straight. You’ll see a lot of wheel-to-wheel action here and enjoy the start/finish line excitement. It’s lively and gives a classic racing vibe.
  • Grandstand 30: Positioned near a corner section of the track, this offers more action in terms of braking, turning, and overtaking maneuvers. If your goal is to see cars in close quarters and witness some competitive racing moments, this is a good pick.

Other considerations:

  • If you prefer a view that combines straight-line speed and some corner action, look into grandstands along the main straight or at the start/finish line area.
  • Some families prefer grandstands near the pits to see the pit stops and team action, though these may be further from the high-speed corners.

Ear protection:

  • Racing is very loud, especially for children. Many venues sell disposable or standard earplugs on site, but availability can be limited during busy days.
  • It’s strongly recommended to bring your own ear protection, such as child-sized earmuffs or high-quality earplugs, to ensure comfort and safety throughout the day.

Overall, for a family with a 12-year-old, Grandstand 36 provides a good mix of speed and excitement with visibility of the start/finish line, while Grandstand 30 gives a cornering perspective with action-packed turns. Bringing your own ear protection will make the experience safe and enjoyable for everyone.
