Phoenecian or Fairmont for toddlers (under 5)?

Hello we are looking at booking a stay in May and wanted any recs on a high end stay with kids. The splash pad at the Phoenecian looks Awesome but so does the beach and pool at the Fairmont. Anything I am missing that should help us decide? Any recs?

Both the Phoenician and the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess are excellent high-end resorts for families, but there are some differences that might help you decide for toddlers under 5.

The Phoenician:

  • The splash pad and family pool areas are very toddler-friendly, with shallow water and gentle slides suitable for young children.
  • There are quiet pools as well as the main pool areas, which allows for flexibility if your toddler prefers calmer water.
  • The resort has well-kept grounds and gardens that are fun for toddlers to explore.
  • They offer children’s programs, though some are more suitable for older kids.

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess:

  • The beach-style pool is large and visually appealing, but it is better suited for slightly older children who can walk in shallow areas independently.
  • They also have a toddler-friendly pool area, but the splash pad at the Phoenician tends to be more interactive for very young children.
  • The Fairmont has extensive grounds, nature paths, and multiple pools, which is great if you want to explore the resort with little ones.
  • On-site dining and family programs are plentiful, and there are seasonal kid-friendly events and activities.

Additional considerations:

  • If your focus is maximizing toddler fun in water, the Phoenician’s splash pad has a slight edge.
  • If you want a more “resort experience” with sprawling grounds and multiple dining options, the Fairmont may be more appealing.
  • Both resorts are highly rated for service, cleanliness, and luxury, so you won’t go wrong either way.

Overall, for a toddler under 5, the Phoenician’s splash pad and dedicated shallow pool areas might make your stay more convenient and fun, while the Fairmont offers a more immersive resort experience with varied activities. Your choice may come down to whether your priority is toddler-focused water play or broader resort amenities.
