Husband and I traveling to AC for some R&R then to visit my cousin in Tucson. Staying four nights I want a little bit more upscale than a Best Western. Looking at Doubletree Resort by Hilton Paradise Valley or Westgate Painted Mountain Resort in Mesa. Thoughts? Unless there is an upscale Best Western that one could recommend.
For a relaxing getaway in the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley area, your choice depends on the kind of experience you want. Both Doubletree Resort by Hilton Paradise Valley and Westgate Painted Mountain Resort in Mesa are solid options, but they offer different vibes and conveniences.
Doubletree Resort by Hilton Paradise Valley: This property is in the heart of Paradise Valley, known for upscale resorts and scenic desert surroundings. It’s close to luxury spas, golf courses, and high-end dining. The resort has a refined, resort-style atmosphere, with pools, landscaped grounds, and mountain views. It’s ideal if you want a more luxurious, tranquil, and scenic setting for R&R.
Westgate Painted Mountain Resort (Mesa): This resort leans more toward condo-style accommodations, often with kitchens and larger living spaces. It’s family-friendly and has several pools, but Mesa is farther from Scottsdale’s upscale shopping, dining, and spa scene. It’s a good option if you prefer a more residential feel and plan to drive to Tucson afterward, as it’s closer to the highways heading south.
Upscale Best Western alternatives are limited in this area. The Best Western Plus Sundial in Scottsdale is a reasonably upscale property, but it doesn’t offer the same resort amenities or scenic luxury as Paradise Valley options.
In summary, for a short upscale R&R stay and a little indulgence before heading to Tucson, the Doubletree Resort in Paradise Valley is likely the better choice. Mesa is practical and comfortable, but Paradise Valley offers the experience more in line with “resort-style relaxation.”
