Are there any hotels on a vineyard?
Planning a trip in July. Wondering if there are any hotesl or B&B either on a vineyard OR winery in the hotel/B&B location. Want to find a unique B&B or hotel instead of a run of the mill Hilton/Marriot property. Any other recommendations? First time visitor.
Thanks.
Santa Barbara is a fantastic destination for combining wine country with charming accommodations. There are several hotels and B&Bs located on or near vineyards and wineries, offering a more intimate and unique experience than the standard chain hotels. Staying on a vineyard allows you to enjoy the scenic rolling hills, stroll among the vines, and often sample wines directly on the property.
Some notable options include:
- San Ysidro Ranch: A historic property set in Montecito, surrounded by lush gardens and close to vineyards. It’s an upscale, romantic retreat with beautiful views.
- Fess Parker Wine Country Inn: Located near Los Olivos, this property offers a boutique experience with access to local wineries. You can often arrange tastings or tours nearby.
- Ballard Inn & Restaurant: Situated in the Los Olivos wine country, this charming inn is a short drive from several renowned vineyards and features an acclaimed restaurant on-site.
- Wine Valley Inn B&B options: There are smaller boutique B&Bs and vacation rentals scattered throughout the Santa Ynez Valley that are either on vineyards or adjacent to them. Many have direct winery access or provide private tastings.
Other recommendations for a first-time visitor:
- Focus on Santa Ynez Valley, Los Olivos, and Ballard areas for boutique inns and vineyard stays.
- Consider booking vineyard tours that include lunch or wine pairing experiences, which many of these inns can arrange.
- If you prefer staying closer to the coast, look for boutique inns in Montecito or Santa Barbara city, and plan wine tasting excursions as day trips inland.
Overall, choosing a vineyard or winery stay will provide a unique and memorable experience, combining the tranquility of wine country with the charm of boutique accommodations. Booking early is recommended, especially for July, as this is a popular time in Santa Barbara wine country.
