I have tickets to a concert in Nationals park on 6/23. I am not sure where to stay after the concert, I have booked a hotel within walking distance of the Nationals park and another hotel 2 stops away by subway (green). I know the concert will be over around 11pm, but is it dangerous to take the subway late at night?
After a late-night concert at Nationals Park, choosing where to stay and how to get there safely is important, especially around 11 p.m. when the crowd disperses. Nationals Park is in the Navy Yard neighborhood, which is generally lively and well-patrolled during event times, but like any urban area, it’s wise to be cautious at night.
Walking Option:
If your hotel is within walking distance, this is often the safest and easiest choice late at night. Many concert-goers leave the stadium at the same time, so streets are relatively busy, well-lit, and there may be security personnel nearby.
Subway Option:
The Washington Metro runs after 11 p.m., but service frequency drops and stations may be quieter. Most neighborhoods along the Green Line are safe, but traveling late alone or with a small group can carry some risks:

Recommendation:
For convenience and safety, staying within walking distance is ideal, especially after a late concert. If your hotel 2 stops away by subway is significantly cheaper or preferable, taking the Metro can be fine if you travel together and take standard safety precautions. Otherwise, rideshare or taxi may offer peace of mind and reduce wait times.
