RV site for LA Dodgers Stadium

Hi, my husband and I are going to a game at the LA Dodgers stadium but we will be travelling via RV. So we're looking for an RV site we can park up, get to the stadium on foot or public transport, then get back to the RV site to stay the night?

Can anybody help please?

Thanks everyone

Yes — you can attend a Dodgers game in an RV, but there are a few important rules and practical points to know. Dodger Stadium does accommodate oversized vehicles (RV/motorhome) in a designated lot on game days, but overnight parking at the stadium is not allowed, and many people prefer to stay at a nearby RV park and either rideshare or use transit/express buses on game day. Below I summarize your options, the closest RV parks, and practical tips so you can pick the approach that fits you best.

Quick summary (short version)

  • On-site RV parking: Dodger Stadium directs all oversized vehicles to Lot 12 (oversize-vehicle parking pass required; no hookups; no tailgating; no overnight stay).
  • If you want to sleep in your RV before/after the game, use a nearby RV park (Van Nuys, Walnut, Long Beach, Dockweiler, Pomona etc.) and either drive/rideshare to the stadium or use transit options.
  • Public transit option: the Metro “Dodger Stadium Express” from Union Station (and South Bay transit centers on some game days) is a popular alternative — if you can get to Union Station or a participating transit hub it avoids stadium parking hassles.

Option A — Park at Dodger Stadium (Lot 12) on game day)

This is the most straightforward if your goal is to arrive and walk right into the ballpark.

  • All oversized vehicles are directed to Lot 12. Expect to pay the oversize-vehicle fee (typically shown as $60 — buy in advance if possible). No electrical/water hookups; tailgating and alcohol in parking lots are prohibited. Gates/auto parking open ~2.5 hours before game time.
  • Important: overnight parking at the stadium is not permitted — Lot 12 is for game-day use only. Plan where you’ll stay the night before or after (an RV park or campground).
  • Traffic/egress after the game can be slow. If you must get on the road right after the final out, be prepared for delays; many folks wait 30–90+ minutes depending on the crowd and game end time. Pre-buy the oversize pass and follow the recommended entrance (Sunset Gate A / Vin Scully Ave) to be guided to Lot 12.

Option B — Stay overnight at a nearby RV park and get to the game by car/rideshare/transit

This gives you a place to sleep, dump, and recharge, and avoids needing to clear out the stadium area late at night.

  • Hollywood RV Park (Van Nuys) — Popular for visitors because it’s relatively central to Hollywood/Burbank and ~20–30 minutes drive to Dodger Stadium (depending on traffic). Good full-hookup option for a city stay.
  • Walnut RV Park / Northridge / San Fernando Valley parks — options in the Valley with hookups; drive times vary (plan on 30–60 minutes to the stadium depending on traffic).
  • Dockweiler Beach RV Park (Playa del Rey) — beachfront park near LAX (full hookups at many sites). It’s farther to Dodger Stadium (~40–60+ minutes depending on traffic) but great if you want beach time before/after the game.
  • Golden Shore / Long Beach RV Resorts — further south (Long Beach), has amenities and is an option if you don’t mind a longer trip to the stadium.
  • Fairplex / Pomona area RV sites — east-side options sometimes convenient for LA events but farther from Dodger Stadium.

Option C — Park your RV somewhere safe, then use the Dodger Stadium Express or rideshare

If you don’t want to drive into Elysian Park and prefer transit, the Dodger Stadium Express runs from Union Station (and certain South Bay hubs) on game days — it’s a reliable way to bypass worst of the game-day driving. Note: you’ll need to get your RV to a park or parking area that allows overnight stays; Union Station itself is not an RV campground.

  • Plan: stay at an RV park, drive to Union Station or a transit center early, park if allowed (check that lot rules allow overnight), and ride the Express to the stadium. Or simply rideshare from your RV park directly to stadium entrances.

Practical tips & checklist

  • Pre-purchase oversized-vehicle parking if you’ll park at Lot 12 — it saves time and secures your spot. Lot 12 fills and gates open ~2.5 hours before first pitch.
  • Know the rules — no tailgating, no open fires, no hookups at Lot 12, and follow stadium staff directions.
  • Arrive early if you want an easier time parking and exiting — arriving when gates open avoids some of the worst queues. Expect heavy traffic afterward and a potentially long wait to leave.
  • Bring essentials — water, snacks (if allowed), and patience; plan your exit strategy (wait a bit after the final out or leave a little early if you must beat the crowds).
  • If you want hookups/dump/recharge: book an RV park for the night rather than relying on stadium parking. Dockweiler, Hollywood RV Park, Walnut, and Golden Shore are common choices.
  • Consider rideshare for arrival/departure from an RV park to avoid searching for a parking pass or dealing with a congested Lot 12 — often faster even with the fee.

Recommendation (what I’d do)

If you only need to be at the game for the night and don’t need to stay on-site afterward, buy the Dodger oversized-vehicle (Lot 12) pass and park at Lot 12 for game entry (simple, walks right in). If you want to sleep in your RV before/after the game or need hookups, book a nearby RV park (Hollywood RV Park or Walnut RV Park for proximity; Dockweiler if you want the beach) and either rideshare or drive in and purchase a Lot 12 pass for the game day (or use the Dodger Stadium Express from Union Station if that’s convenient).
