Daxing Airport Transfer?
Can anyone recommend a good company for a transfer from Daxing airport to Beijing city? What is the best way to go?
Normally I use Klook for this, but I noticed they only have transfers for PEK airport.
Thanks
Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) is located approximately 46 km south of the city center. There are several reliable ways to transfer from Daxing Airport to central Beijing, depending on your preference for speed, convenience, and budget.
Option 1: Airport Shuttle / Private Transfer
- Private car transfers can be booked in advance through travel agencies or hotel concierge services. These services are door-to-door and convenient, especially if you have luggage or are traveling with family.
- Some popular providers include Beijing Airport Car Service, Blacklane, and local taxi companies that offer pre-booked airport pickups.
- Travel time to downtown Beijing (e.g., Chaoyang, Dongcheng) is approximately 50–70 minutes depending on traffic.
Option 2: Taxi
- Official taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. A standard taxi can accommodate 4 passengers comfortably; for larger groups, you may need two taxis or a van-type taxi.
- Fare to central Beijing is around CNY 150–200 plus tolls.
- Ensure you use official taxis and check with the driver that they accept your intended destination and fare type.
Option 3: Daxing Airport Express (Subway)
- The Daxing Airport Express Line connects the airport to Caoqiao Station in Beijing, from where you can transfer to Line 10 or Line 19 to reach other parts of the city.
- This is the most economical option and is relatively fast (about 20–25 minutes to Caoqiao, plus transfer time), but may not be ideal if you have heavy luggage or multiple travelers.
- Tickets cost around CNY 25–35 depending on the final destination.
Option 4: Ride-Hailing Apps
- Apps like DiDi (Chinese equivalent of Uber) are widely used in Beijing and can be arranged from Daxing Airport to your hotel. This provides convenience similar to a private transfer.
- Language barriers may exist, so having your destination address written in Chinese helps.
- Prices vary depending on vehicle type and traffic, usually comparable to taxi fares.
Recommendation:
- For convenience and minimal stress with luggage, a pre-booked private transfer or a taxi/DiDi ride is recommended.
- If traveling light and on a budget, the Daxing Airport Express subway is efficient and reliable, but you will need to manage transfers with luggage.
- Unlike PEK, Klook and some other booking platforms currently have limited offerings for PKX transfers, so booking directly through local providers or your hotel is usually the best approach.
Overall, the best choice depends on your luggage, group size, and comfort preference. Private transfers or ride-hailing provide the smoothest experience, while the Airport Express offers a cost-effective alternative.
