Kayak rental
Does anyone know any places bayside that have kayak rental at location.
I want to be able to get out of bed and into Kayak without having to drive anywhere.
Good question. There aren’t a lot of places right *on St. Pete Beach* (bayside) that rent kayaks for walk-up, “get out of bed and paddle” convenience — most kayak operations around here are tour-based or require delivery or a short drive. But there are a few nearby options to consider, and a couple of tips to help you find something close-ish.
Nearby / Local Kayak Rental Options
- Coastal Kayak Charters: They run guided kayak tours from the St. Pete Beach area out to the Shell Key Preserve. If you’re okay with doing a tour (rather than totally on-your-own), this is one of the most accessible options.
- Liberty Outdoors: Offers kayak rentals in the St. Petersburg / St. Pete Beach region. They’ll deliver kayaks to your location — so if your place has a dock or water access, you could potentially have them drop one off.
- Tampa Bay Kayak Rentals: They offer drop-off kayak rentals at various launch points around Tampa Bay, including in the St. Petersburg / St. Pete Beach area.
Other Considerations & Tips
- The city’s PADL paddleboard rental stations are available at several parks (Pass-a-Grille, Upham, McKenney, etc.). While these are for paddleboards (not kayaks), they’re super convenient for beach-side access.
