Coming to LA in July.

I hope someone can help me.

I am coming to LA in July to try to get on the Price is Right.

I would like stay in well known name hotel. I plan to ride the Big Bus tour for a couple of days to see the sights. Do you think it would be better to stay at a hotel that the Big Bus tour pick up from or stay near the price is right

I will be traveling alone. Do you know of any visitor center I could call that might be able to help me with a few details questions I might have.

Any other advance you might have for me I would love to know about it.

Hi Stephen, visiting LA in July and trying to get on The Price is Right is an exciting plan! Here’s a detailed breakdown to help you make the most of your trip.

Hotel location: Since you are traveling alone and plan to do the Big Bus tour, your choice depends on your priorities. If your main goal is to get on The Price is Right, staying near CBS Television City in the Fairfax District could be convenient, as it’s only a short walk to the studio. On the other hand, staying near a Big Bus tour pick-up location—often around Hollywood or Santa Monica—makes it easier to hop on the tour without relying on public transit or rideshares.

  • If you prefer convenience for the show, consider hotels near CBS Television City. Well-known hotels in that area include the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills or the Kimpton Hotel Palomar.
  • If sightseeing via Big Bus is your priority, hotels in Hollywood or near Santa Monica are more ideal. Examples include Loews Hollywood Hotel, The Hollywood Roosevelt, or Shore Hotel in Santa Monica.
  • It is also feasible to stay centrally in West Hollywood, which is roughly midway between the CBS studio and main Big Bus stops, giving you flexibility.

Visitor information and assistance: For any questions about The Price is Right tickets, rules, or accessibility, you can contact the CBS Studios audience services office directly. Their staff can answer questions about tickets, arrival times, and seating. For general LA visitor info:

  • Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (Discover Los Angeles) – they provide guidance on transportation, attractions, and events.
  • Many major hotels have concierge services that can help with tickets, directions, and tour recommendations.

Additional advice for your trip:

  • Arrive early for The Price is Right ticket pick-up. Even if you have tickets in advance, early arrival improves your chance of getting a seat.
  • July in LA can be hot; carry water and sunscreen when walking around Hollywood or sightseeing.
  • If using Big Bus tours, consider the 2-day pass to cover both Hollywood and downtown/Westside attractions efficiently.
  • Plan your evenings near your hotel or in safe, walkable areas. West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica have lively evening scenes and restaurants.
  • For photography or casual walking, Griffith Observatory is a must for views of the city and the Hollywood sign.

Overall, if your main goal is the show, staying near CBS Television City is the simplest. If sightseeing is a bigger priority, a hotel near a Big Bus stop in Hollywood or Santa Monica makes sense. Many travelers find West Hollywood offers a good balance of convenience for both.
