SFO hotel.

Looking for recommendations for a hotel near SFO late August. Our flight arrives about 6:40 pm and we fly out the next afternoon. We'd like a good quiet hotel with a good restaurant that has a relaxing atmosphere. We don't want a sports bar or a place that has tvs everywhere. A good restaurant a short walk away would be fine also. The opportunity to have a walk in the morning would be a bonus. Thanks!

For a short overnight stay near SFO with a focus on quiet surroundings, good dining, and a relaxing atmosphere, there are several excellent hotel options. Most of them offer convenient airport shuttles, comfortable rooms, and either on-site restaurants or easy access to nearby quality dining.

Here are some top recommendations:

  • Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport: Located in Burlingame, this hotel is known for its quiet, modern rooms and spacious layout. The on-site restaurant serves contemporary American cuisine in a calm environment, and the property has landscaped outdoor areas where you can take a pleasant morning walk.
  • Grand Hyatt at SFO: Directly connected to the airport via the AirTrain, this is ideal if you want minimal transit time. While it’s convenient, it’s surprisingly quiet given its location. The on-site dining is high quality, offering a relaxed atmosphere for dinner.
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay: If you’re willing to drive 20–25 minutes south, this luxury option provides ocean views, a serene setting, and an excellent on-site restaurant. The walking paths along the cliffs in the morning are beautiful, making it perfect for a more scenic experience.
  • Hilton San Francisco Airport Bayfront: Located in Burlingame, this hotel offers bay views, a quiet ambiance, and a well-reviewed restaurant serving Californian cuisine. It also has outdoor walking paths along the bay for a morning stroll.

If you prefer to walk to nearby restaurants rather than dine in the hotel, the Burlingame and Millbrae areas have several quiet, high-quality options within 5–10 minutes on foot. You can enjoy local bistros, Asian cuisine, and casual seafood spots without encountering noisy sports bars or TVs.

For your timing, arriving in the evening around 6:40 pm, these hotels will allow you to settle in quickly and enjoy a relaxing dinner nearby. In the morning, you’ll have time for a walk before heading back to SFO for your flight.
