Zjj glass bridge descending route to the canyon
Hello guys. I want to visit Zjj glass bridge+ canyon. I searched for hours but idk why the info is so...incomplete and confusing.
More exactly:
1) after i walk the bridge, can i descend to the valley by foot/ stairs? I see there are 3 elevators, and just one is included in the entrance ticket. But if i take the so-called " sightseeing elevator" can i continue to descend by stairs? Or i have to take the other 2 elevators?
Or is it simpler to descend through the other side? But am i allowed to come back after crossing the bridge and descend from the side opposite to the one with the elevators?
I also see smth about a marble slideway? What is that exactly, i never used such a thing haha...
Visiting the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge and the surrounding canyon area can indeed be confusing, especially with multiple elevators, stairs, and additional attractions like the marble slideway. Here's a detailed explanation of the descending options and other features:
1. Descending from the glass bridge:
- After walking across the glass bridge, you can descend to the canyon area primarily via elevators or stairs. There are three elevators in total, but only one (“sightseeing elevator”) is included in the standard bridge ticket. This elevator will take you partway down to the canyon area.
- Once you reach the sightseeing elevator exit, there are stairs that allow further descent to the valley floor. You do not need to take the other two elevators unless you want to skip some walking or reach a different exit point.
- The bridge is designed as a loop in some sections, so it is usually allowed to return along the same path and descend from the side with the elevators. You do not have to cross to the opposite side unless you want to access a specific area or attraction on that side.
2. Alternative descent route:
- Some visitors choose to descend from the opposite side of the bridge to explore different viewpoints. This is permitted, but you need to check for any temporary restrictions, as the management occasionally controls traffic flow to avoid congestion.
- If you take this route, you may encounter longer walking distances and additional stairs, but it can provide a slightly different experience of the canyon scenery.
3. Marble slideway:
- The marble slideway is a smooth stone slide built alongside some stairways in the canyon. It is designed as a fun way to descend quickly instead of taking stairs. Essentially, you sit on the slide (sometimes with a small mat provided) and slide down to the lower level.
- It is safe and suitable for most visitors, though children are usually accompanied by adults. The slideway is optional, and you can always use the stairs if you prefer a traditional descent.
4. Tips for a smooth experience:
- Arrive early to avoid crowds, especially if you want to use the sightseeing elevator included in the ticket without waiting too long.
- Wear comfortable shoes for stairs and walking around the canyon.
- If you want to experience the marble slideway, bring a small backpack or leave bulky items aside, as some slides may have restrictions on carrying large bags.
- Check the park map and staff instructions on the day of your visit, as access to certain elevators or slides may be temporarily limited due to maintenance or crowd control.
In summary, you can descend from the glass bridge to the canyon either using the sightseeing elevator and stairs, or optionally explore the other side of the bridge. The marble slideway is a fun and safe alternative to stairs for part of the descent. Most visitors combine these options for a varied experience.
