Hi
Thinking of visiting Zhangjiajie in Dec and seems like there's not a lot of flight options out of there in that time of the year, so thinking of taking the train.
We will have luggages with us and a baby with a pram - I assume this station has lift and accessibility access, but thought I'd check.
Also do you know if they will be strict with luggage or if buying premium / business class will give us more allowance. Some of us will likely have more than 1 luggage per person
Thanks
Traveling from Zhangjiajie by train in December is a practical choice, especially given limited flight options during the low season. Here’s a detailed overview to help you plan, particularly with a baby and luggage:
Station Accessibility: Zhangjiajie Railway Station is relatively modern and equipped with basic accessibility features. There are elevators/lifts available for passengers with strollers, wheelchairs, or heavy luggage. The station layout is fairly straightforward, but during peak times, some areas might be crowded.
Luggage Policies: Chinese trains generally allow passengers to bring luggage within standard limits. For regular class tickets:
Purchasing premium or business class tickets often provides more generous luggage allowances and larger, more comfortable seating. Business class may also offer extra space to store strollers or multiple pieces of luggage without hassle.
Practical Tips:
Overall, taking the train from Zhangjiajie in December is feasible even with a baby and multiple luggage pieces, provided you plan for accessibility, luggage management, and early arrival at the station.
