Tsunami Watch issued July 29, NWS Pacific Tsunami Center

Today at 1:33pm Hawaii Standard Time , the NWS Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a Tsunami Watch.

An 8.) magnitude earthquake has occurred off the east coast of Kamchatka Russia.

Based on all available data a Tsunami (tidal wave) may have been generated, that could be destructive on Coastal areas.

If the Tsunami waves impact Hawaii the estimated earliet arrival of the first tsunami wave is 07:17PM Tuesday night (tonight).

Hopefully we will be receiving updates hourly or sooner if condition warrant. This will continue until the threat to Hawaii has passed.

If there is a need to move to higher ground the "All Hazard Emergency Sirens" will be sounded. There have been over 400 sirens installed in the State of Hawaii.
