Hi
Ive just booked car hire through Brit Alamo car hire. It said I need to buy the Brit guide however I have found out its not published anymore. Does anyone know if this is going be valid car hire?
Does it matter which year of publication I have of the book as now not possible to get current year.
It seems like you're dealing with a bit of confusion regarding the Brit Alamo car hire and the guidebook requirement. Let me clarify things for you:
First, the Brit guidebook you mentioned is something that was historically offered to UK-based customers who booked car hire through certain agencies like Brit Alamo. This guide provided specific instructions, terms, and benefits for UK drivers renting cars in the US. However, as you’ve discovered, the Brit guide is no longer being published, and it is no longer a requirement for car hire, even if the website or booking system mentioned it during your booking process.
Regarding your concern about the publication year of the guidebook, it doesn’t actually matter now since the guide is no longer in circulation. If you were required to buy it for a particular benefit or discount, those benefits are likely outdated or no longer applicable. As long as you have completed your booking and received a confirmation from Alamo (or Brit Alamo), your car hire should be valid without needing the guidebook.
In conclusion, don't worry too much about the Brit guide, as it is no longer needed for your car hire. As long as you have your booking confirmed, your rental should proceed as planned.
