Brick & Bell Cafe is a solid choice, known for its coffee and light breakfast/lunch fare.
Other suggestions for casual outdoor dining or coffee nearby include:

- Harry’s Coffee Shop: A classic local diner vibe, inexpensive and quick, with some outdoor tables.
- El Pescador Fish Market: Great for fresh seafood sandwiches, casual outdoor picnic-style seating, and reasonable prices for the quality.
- Starbucks or local coffee carts along Girard Ave: Convenient if you just want a quick coffee to enjoy outside while walking around the area.
For locally made shopping or unique items in La Jolla:
- Girard Avenue boutiques: Several small shops carry locally made jewelry, artisan crafts, and boutique clothing. Perfect for one-of-a-kind souvenirs.
- La Jolla Open Aire Market (if open on your day): Features local artisans, handmade items, and food vendors in an outdoor setting.
- Local art galleries along Prospect Street: Many feature works by San Diego artists, from paintings to handcrafted home décor.
Walking around the Cove area gives you plenty of options to enjoy a casual meal, grab a coffee, and browse local shops without breaking the budget. It’s also very scenic, so even a simple snack outdoors can be enjoyable.
