Hotel rooms with kitchenette in Santa Monica
Are there any hotels that have rooms with a kitchenette in Santa Monica?
I've been searching for a while but nothing is coming up.
We're looking to stay for 8 nights so having an oven, cooktop and/or microwave would be handy for those nights that we don't want to eat out.
Preferably walking distance to the beach/pier. And preferably not an Airbnb.
Finding a hotel in Santa Monica with a full kitchenette can be a bit challenging, as most properties in the area are traditional hotels without in-room cooking facilities. However, there are several options that cater to longer stays or offer suites with kitchenettes, which would suit your 8-night stay.
Hotel options with kitchenettes or small kitchen facilities:
- Sea Blue Hotel – Offers some suites with a small kitchenette, including a microwave, mini-fridge, and basic cooking utensils. Located near the beach and a short walk to the pier.
- Suites at Santa Monica – A few boutique options in this category have studio-style rooms with a microwave, mini-fridge, and small countertop cooking facilities. Walking distance to the beach is possible depending on the exact location.
- Sonder or Lyric Rentals (Hotel-style serviced apartments) – While technically not a hotel chain, they offer professionally managed units in Santa Monica with full kitchens (oven, stovetop, microwave) in some locations, close to the beach. These often provide the hotel-like amenities you might want while still having a kitchen.
- Extended Stay America – Los Angeles Santa Monica – This chain specializes in longer stays and typically offers rooms with full kitchenettes (microwave, stovetop, refrigerator, and some with oven). It's slightly farther from the pier (a short drive), but some locations may be walkable depending on your pace.
Tips for your search:
- Filter for “extended stay” or “suite” properties when using booking platforms, as standard hotels rarely have full cooking facilities.
- Confirm directly with the hotel that the kitchenette includes what you need—some may have only a microwave and mini-fridge without a stovetop or oven.
- Consider properties slightly inland if walking distance to the beach is not critical, as these often offer better kitchen facilities at a lower cost.
For an 8-night stay in Santa Monica with beach access and the ability to cook some meals, an extended-stay property or a serviced apartment-style hotel is your best bet. While pure hotels in prime beach locations rarely have full kitchens, these options balance convenience, comfort, and your need for a kitchenette.
