Best area to stay with friends
4 women celebrating 60+ birthdays…probably early November….where would be the best area to stay. We will not have a car so we would walk or Uber. Any restaurants or hotel recommendations are appreciated. TIA.
For a fun and relaxed girls' trip in Fort Lauderdale, there are a few great areas to consider staying, particularly since you won't have a car and will rely on walking or Uber. Here are some of the best neighborhoods for a vibrant, walkable experience with lots of dining, entertainment, and relaxation options:
- Las Olas Boulevard – This is one of the most popular areas in Fort Lauderdale for visitors. It’s a bustling strip filled with boutiques, restaurants, bars, and cafes, all within walking distance of each other. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll down the boulevard during the day and hit the vibrant nightlife scene at night. It’s also close to the water and the Fort Lauderdale Beach.
- Fort Lauderdale Beach – Staying near the beach offers the perfect mix of relaxation and entertainment. You’ll be close to the ocean and can easily walk or Uber to beachfront restaurants, bars, and attractions. It’s a great spot if you want to enjoy the beach vibes and still have access to lively dining and nightlife.
- Victoria Park – If you’re looking for a quieter and more residential vibe, Victoria Park offers a great option. It’s close to the main attractions and has some charming boutique hotels and restaurants. You’ll have easy access to the beach and downtown areas via a short Uber ride.
Here are a few recommendations for hotels and restaurants in these areas:
- Hotel Recommendations:
- The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale – An upscale option near the beach, with beautiful views, a luxurious pool, and excellent service.
- The W Fort Lauderdale – A trendy, upscale hotel right on the beach with a vibrant atmosphere, rooftop bar, and easy access to Fort Lauderdale Beach's nightlife.
- The Pillars Hotel – A charming boutique hotel in Victoria Park, offering a peaceful retreat with an intimate vibe and a lovely restaurant right on the Intracoastal Waterway.
- Restaurant and Bar Recommendations:
- Louie Bossi’s Ristorante Bar Pizzeria – Located on Las Olas Boulevard, it’s a trendy spot with great Italian food, a lively atmosphere, and plenty of outdoor seating.
- Steak 954 – Located in the W Hotel, it’s an upscale steakhouse with great food and a stunning view of the ocean.
- The Floridian – A classic Fort Lauderdale diner offering a laid-back, local feel with hearty breakfast and lunch options.
- Elbo Room – A casual beachside bar on Fort Lauderdale Beach that offers a fun atmosphere, great drinks, and ocean views, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or evening out.
For a mix of beach relaxation, dining, shopping, and entertainment, Las Olas Boulevard and Fort Lauderdale Beach are your best bets. Both are walkable and offer a variety of things to do, from daytime lounging by the ocean to vibrant nightlife. You’ll have plenty of options without needing a car. If you want a quieter escape while still being close to the action, consider staying in Victoria Park. Either way, you’re in for a fantastic birthday getaway!
