U Miami - Knights Sports Complex Parking
We will be driving down to south FL to catch a UM volleyball game in October. It's a 7pm game on a Friday night at the Knights Sports Complex. What's the best place to park for the match? The website is confusing. Thanks for your help.
For the UM volleyball game at the Knights Sports Complex in October, parking can be a bit tricky, especially with the game being held on a Friday night. The website may not always provide the clearest details, but here are some options that should help you find the best place to park:
- Pavia Garage – This is the closest parking structure to the Knights Sports Complex. It's located on the University of Miami campus and offers a reasonable walk to the venue. Since it's a garage, it’s a reliable option if you're arriving early or want to ensure you have a space. However, it can fill up quickly, so be prepared to arrive with plenty of time before the 7pm game.
- Stanford Garage – Another nearby parking option is the Stanford Garage, which is a little further from the sports complex but still within walking distance. It’s a good backup if Pavia is full, and it also tends to have more availability. Make sure to check if there’s a special event going on at the university, as that could impact availability.
- Surface Lots (Lot #1 and Lot #3) – These are open-air parking lots that are located a bit further away but still within walking distance of the Knights Sports Complex. Surface lots can be a cheaper alternative to the garages, though they might fill up earlier on game nights. It's a good option if you don't mind a slightly longer walk.
- Metered Street Parking – If you’re arriving later in the day, metered street parking around the UM campus might be available. However, this can be less reliable, as it fills up quickly, and there might be restrictions in place due to game traffic.
It’s a good idea to arrive at least 30 minutes before the game starts to ensure you can find parking without rushing. Keep in mind that since the game is in the evening, the parking structures on campus may fill up more quickly as it gets closer to the game time. If you’re unsure about the availability of parking on game day, consider using the parking maps provided by the university or even checking with their parking office for real-time updates.
Once you're parked, the Knights Sports Complex is easy to walk to from any of these locations, and it should be a short, pleasant stroll before the game starts. Enjoy the match!
