Do I have enough time to do this in Anchorage?

Hi,

My flight arrives in Anchorage at 2:15pm. I will take a rideshare to my hotel located in downtown.

Do I have time to land, get to my hotel to check-in and drop off my bag, and make it to a 3:45pm check-in for a Trolley tour?

I just didn't know how congested the airport will be in the afternoon. My hotel is around the corner from the Trolley Tour check-in point.

Thanks!

Given your flight arrives at 2:15pm and your Trolley Tour check-in is at 3:45pm, you have about 1.5 hours. Downtown Anchorage is very close to the airport (roughly 15–20 minutes by rideshare without heavy traffic), and your hotel being near the Trolley Tour check-in is a big advantage.

Here are some factors to consider:

  • Baggage claim and airport processing: If you have checked luggage, it may take 10–20 minutes to retrieve. Carry-on only will save time.
  • Rideshare wait times: Depending on the time of day, rideshare pickup may take 5–15 minutes. Afternoon traffic is usually moderate, but delays can happen.
  • Hotel check-in: Most downtown hotels can handle a quick bag drop if your room isn't ready, which would save a few minutes.

Considering all of the above, it is doable but will be tight. If your flight is on time, you could realistically make it, but any minor delay in landing, luggage, or rideshare could make you late.

  • Alternative option: If your flight is slightly delayed, you could call the Trolley Tour company and see if they can accommodate a late arrival, or book the next available tour.
  • Tip: Have everything ready to go and head straight to the hotel for a quick bag drop, then walk to the Trolley Tour check-in. Since it’s nearby, walking could save time compared to rideshare or shuttle.

Overall, the plan is feasible, but allow for contingencies and try to move efficiently through the airport and hotel check-in.
