Wutai Mountain Access

Hi,

We will be visting Wutai mountain end of October. We will stay in a hotel in the town for one night. I have seen that you can no longer drive to the town and must transfer to a bus from the Wutai Mountain Tourist Center. We are however going with a private driver, does that mean he is not allowed to drop us off at our hotel and we must also use the bus?
