I am in a bit of dilemma. We had planned our visit to Mutianyu section on Nov 2nd to see the autumn foliage at its peak color. Now our visa is taking way longer than we expected because the embassy says they have lot of backlogs due to the closure of their business in the first week of November. We are not sure when our application will be accepted online & then sent for visa stamping.
My question is if we come around 6-7th November can we still see the foliage around the Great wall or is it late already as i heard the temperatures are already low in Beijing.
Visiting the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall in early November is still possible to see autumn foliage, but timing is very close to the end of the peak season. In Beijing, the autumn colors usually reach their best from late October to the first few days of November. By 6–7 November, the foliage may have started to fade, and some leaves may have already fallen due to cooler temperatures.
Here are some factors to consider for your visit around 6–7 November:

In conclusion, while 6–7 November is slightly past the absolute peak for autumn foliage at Mutianyu, you can still see colorful scenery, especially in sheltered and higher areas. Be prepared for cooler temperatures and enjoy the Wall with potentially fewer crowds.
