Song of everlasting sorrow night time show

Planning to visit xian and see the famous song of everlasting sorrow at night time. My plan is to visit teracotta warrior then stroll around huaqing palace and end the day to see the song of everlasting sorrow. If I search the ticket in klook, there is 2 scheduled show at 6.30 pm and 7.55pm. Which time of the show is recommended? Let say I take the 7.55pm show. Will it be easy to find taxi or didi back to xi’an city center considering I will go by myself not with tour?

The “Song of Everlasting Sorrow” show in Xi’an is a spectacular night-time cultural performance held at the Huaqing Palace area. It is highly recommended for visitors looking to experience traditional Chinese storytelling, dance, and music in a historic setting.

Regarding the show timing:

  • The 6:30 pm show is earlier, which can be convenient if you prefer finishing your day earlier or if you plan to have dinner in the area beforehand.
  • The 7:55 pm show allows you to spend more time visiting the Terracotta Warriors and strolling around Huaqing Palace without rushing. By evening, the site is generally quieter and the lighting during the night show is more dramatic, enhancing the experience.

If you choose the 7:55 pm show and plan to return to Xi’an city center afterward:

  • Finding a taxi or Didi outside Huaqing Palace after the show is generally possible but may require a short wait as many taxis do not regularly queue for the tourist area at night.
  • It is recommended to pre-book a Didi ride through the app to ensure you have reliable transport back. The app allows you to set pick-up points and see estimated waiting times.
  • Another option is to coordinate with your hotel for a private car or airport-style transfer if convenience is a priority, especially since you will be traveling alone.

Overall, the 7:55 pm show is a good choice if you want to enjoy the daytime attractions without rush and experience the show in full night-time ambiance. Just plan ahead for your return transport to Xi’an city center.
