🌼Quzhou Kaihua Taihui Mountain Ancient Village - 2 Days 1 Night Budget Travel Guide||‼️A Weekend Escape from Hangzhou to Quzhou Kaihua Travel Guide

1️⃣Transportation
🚗Self-driving is recommended as scenic spots in Quzhou are several kilometers apart (except for Root Palace Buddhist Kingdom which is in the city, most attractions are in the mountains⛰️)

2️⃣Recommended Attractions in Quzhou Kaihua
Day 1:
⚠️Arriving in Quzhou in the afternoon, we mainly visited Root Palace Buddhist Kingdom (see my previous guide for details😎)
⚠️In the evening, we explored the county center, dining around Dongfang Square, and strongly recommend visiting the Xinhua Bookstore in Baihui Mall👍🏻

Day 2:
⚠️We arrived at Kaihua Museum around 11am (briefly toured the six-in-one Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum😂and the library which is part of the complex)
⚠️In the afternoon, we passed by Taihui Mountain - the Jiangnan version of Potala Palace🌼
(Free parking🅿️, nice scenery, recommended visiting time 1-2 hours)
⚠️Main destination was a secluded ancient village - Gaotiankeng Village🕳️(personally not recommended, mountain roads are challenging with one-way sections😂scenery as shown in photos 8-13, village only has locals, zero commercialization)

3️⃣Recommended Visit Duration
❗Museum: 1-2 hours (can visit before or after meals as it's near the county center)
❗Taihui Mountain: 1-2 hours (about 30km from county center, highly recommended surprise spot)
❗Gaotiankeng Village: 1 hour (30-minute mountain drive from Taihui Mountain, about 6-7km↔️)

4️⃣Kaihua Food Recommendations
⚠️Kaihua Live Fish: one fish two ways (we ate at a village food stall, it was okay but not impressive)
⚠️Kaihua Steam Cake: good value at 1.5 yuan each (search for Kaihua Steam Cake shop, go early as it's a breakfast item)
⚠️Quzhou Rice Noodles: recommend A'Gai
⚠️Quzhou Baked Flatbread: preserved vegetable flatbread 8 yuan each
