Tenryuji Temple, or Heavenly Dragon Temple, is the head temple of the Tenryu branch of the Rinzai sect of Zen, located in the Ukyo Ward of Kyoto Prefecture. Tenryuji Temple was built in 1339 by Ashikaga Takauji, the first shogun of Ashikaga, in memory of the late Emperor Go Daigo, and the Kuri Hall is one of the most important buildings in Tenryuji Temple. Today, the Kuri Hall is used as the temple's kitchen and office. with its high curved roof and white facade, it is a popular photographed spot and has become a symbol of the temple. Tenryuji Temple is one of the cultural properties of the ancient capital of Kyoto and is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a place with beautiful architectural art and many historical and cultural relics. along with the surrounding environment of the temple is peaceful, making it a great place and worth a visit.
