Kyoto's Ryoanji Temple: A stunning garden combining cherry blossoms and Zen-style rock garden.

Kyoto is a popular destination for cherry blossom viewing, not only because of the full bloom of cherry trees but also due to the abundance of temple gardens, which offer a more picturesque and meaningful setting for photography compared to other places. This time, we visited Ryoanji Temple in Kyoto. Although the cherry blossoms here are not particularly abundant, the Zen-style rock garden in the Hojo Garden creates a unique and captivating scene when paired with the cherry blossoms.

Ryoanji Temple has several great spots for cherry blossom viewing. First is the Kyoko Pond, where cherry trees are planted around the landscaped water garden, exuding a lively beauty. Following the path to the Hojo Garden, the weeping cherry tree at the entrance is the second photo spot. Lastly, within the Hojo Garden, the Zen-style rock garden features cherry blossoms hanging from the eaves, creating a serene and harmonious beauty.

To reach Ryoanji Temple, you can take the Keifuku Kitano Line or Bus No. 50 from Kyoto Station, which takes approximately 40 minutes.
