Kyoto—where ancient vibes and Insta-worthy sights collide! In just 3 days, I soaked up centuries of history, epic temples, and shrine-lined paths that feel straight out of a movie 🎎⛩️. Want your own perfect itinerary? Here’s how to experience the essence of Kyoto, stress-free.
Day 1: Fushimi Inari Dream
Start with the iconic Senbon Torii at Fushimi Inari Taisha (68 Fukakusa Yabunouchicho, Fushimi Ward). Both are open 24/7, so hit the gates early for quieter photos and magical sunrise light! Wander the endless paths of scarlet torii gates—this shrine complex has over a thousand gates and is THE ultimate Kyoto experience. 📸
Next, pop into Araki Shrine (12-3 Fukakusa Kaidoguchicho, 9am-5pm)—a peaceful local spot most tourists skip. Get a lucky charm for the trip!
Day 2: Kimono and Zen
Book some kimono magic at Kyotokimonorentaru Aiwafuku Fushimiinariten (35-3 Fukakusa Ichinotsubocho). Walking around in traditional attire turns every stop into a photo op and just feels special.
Hit Komyo-in Temple (15-809 Honmachi, 7am–5pm), a serene Zen spot with a gorgeous rock garden—perfect for chilling and snapping some peaceful shots.
Day 3: Hidden Temple Gems
Explore Tōfuku-ji Temple and the tranquil subtemple Unryu-in. Both are home to dreamy gardens, beautiful fall colors (if you’re lucky with timing), and quiet corners for reflection.
Kyoto Travel Tips
Getting Around: Get an IC card and use the city’s super-efficient buses/subways—much cheaper and easier than taxis.
Food: Try local specialties—grab some yatsuhashi (sweet mochi cookies) or slurp up Kyoto-style ramen.
Money: Carry cash—smaller shrines/shops rarely take cards.
Weather: Spring and autumn = best. Bring layers as it gets chilly by evening.
