Started the day early with friends heading to Jiufen!
First stop was the Gold Museum, which features an incredibly massive gold piece.
There’s also a tunnel nearby, but unfortunately, one side was under maintenance and closed. We paid for the ticket but could only walk for less than 2 minutes (?).
Next to the museum, there’s a trail leading up to a Shinto shrine from the Japanese colonial era. Be prepared to climb a ton of stairs! The view from the top is quite nice, and it would be even better on a sunny day.
Afterward, we went to the Weekend Bistro where we had reserved a table. The food was absolutely delicious and worth visiting again! Sadly, it started to rain, so the photos we took turned out a bit grayish.
