Hokkaido in winter is really fun

If I were to say the best place to travel in Japan in winter, I would definitely strongly recommend Hokkaido!!!
As one of the two major cities in Japan, Hokkaido is second only to Tokyo in importance.
Especially during the snow season, facing this wonder of ice and snow, it feels like you are in a fairy tale world in an instant.
International flights usually land at New Chitose Airport, and it is very convenient to reach Sapporo. I chose Sapporo as the first stop of my trip to Hokkaido. Sapporo is very convenient for transportation.
It takes about 45 minutes from Sapporo to Otaru by JR. Otaru is not a big city, so you can basically go back and forth to Sapporo on the same day.
Then I prepared to go to Noboribetsu. It is very difficult to walk during the snow season. You can buy shoe spikes at convenience stores and put them on your shoes to prevent falling. But you have to take them off at the entrance of the hotel¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Noboribetsu Jigokudani is full of rotten eggs (the smell of sulfur). There are several hot springs at the entrance of Jigokudani. You can choose a day trip hot spring here. I recommend Takinoya
. You can see Jigokudani from the outdoor hot spring~ The surrounding snow scenery is also very beautiful.
When you return to Sapporo, you can go to Tanukikoji Shopping Street. You can rent kimonos, and you can also apply a lot of hot packs when changing clothes.
Then there are souvenirs. White Lover and Balloon Pudding are must-buys. In addition, I am attracted by the body lotion of Shiro, a niche Japanese brand. I bought the soap fragrance, which is elegant and fresh.
The next article is about Okinawa for those who are afraid of cold.
