Tsutenkaku Tower, A Symbolic Glimpse of Old Osaka.

#osakatrip#travel
My visit to Tsutenkaku(通天閣), one of Osaka’s most iconic landmarks, was both enjoyable and insightful. Located in the retro district of Shinsekai, the tower stands as a nostalgic reminder of Japan’s optimism and architectural ambition.
Though not very tall by modern standard, Tsutenkaku Tower offers a panoramic view of the city from its observation deck, giving you a unique perspective of Osaka’s layout. Inside, the atmosphere is friendly and vibrant, with exhibits on the history of the tower and local culture.
One of the highlights was seeing the statue of Billiken, the “God of Things As They Ought to Be,” which many visitors touch for good luck.
Around the base, there’s a small shopping area with local snacks, souvenirs, and quirky attractions that showcase the charm of older Osaka. Everything feels a little vintage, in the best possible way.
Overall, visiting Tsutenkaku Tower is more about the amusing experience and history than just the view. It’s a must-see for travelers who want to feel the nostalgic heart of Osaka.
⏩🎫 Tsutenkaku Tower admission ticket for the general observatory costs 900 JPY for adults. For an additional 300 JPY to visit the open-air observatory deck, Tenbo Paradise & Tip The Tsutenkaku.
⏩🕙 Opening hours: The Tsutenkaku is open everyday from 10 am - 8 pm.
