1) Beautiful Campus Exterior

Hokkaido University boasts one of the most beautiful campuses in Japan.
Two poplar-lined avenues and one ginkgo-lined avenue.
Cherry blossoms in spring, bright sunlight and nature in summer.
Ginkgo trees in fall, and snow in winter.
The scenery changes with each season, making it a delightful place to visit any time of year.
That's reason to visit right now!

2) Delicious Snacks.

My absolute favorite is the soft-serve ice cream sold at the museum cafe! At 250 yen for the mini size and 450 yen for the regular size, it's a great value.
Even so, it's rich and creamy, thanks to the generous use of milk, making it the best soft-serve ice cream I've had in Hokkaido.

Another recommendation is the Hokkaido Dorayaki sold at Seiko Mart.
It's also reasonably priced at 180 yen, and comes with a thick bun and a generous amount of red bean paste.
Don't miss out on trying both!!

3) Free and Rich Museum

The museum, open until 5 PM, is free to enter.
In addition to the school's exhibitions, each department has its own exhibitions, allowing you to experience the university's diversity.
The most striking feature is the sheer variety of models and specimens!
This is the epitome of Hokkaido University's academic philosophy of "specimenalism."

Experience nature firsthand through dinosaur and animal bones, and a beautifully recreated mammoth model!
