Hokkaido Sapporo Tourism Hokkaido Shrine Autumn Foliage Viewing 2025

The autumn foliage season has arrived!

I visited Hokkaido Shrine in the vibrant autumn colors, so I'd like to share my experience.

📍 Hokkaido Shrine, Sapporo
📍 474 Miyagaoka, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido
→ Approximately a 15-minute walk from Exit 3 of Maruyama-koen Station on the Tozai Subway Line
→ Approximately a 5-minute walk from the Hokkaido Shrine bus stop

At Hokkaido Shrine, too,

there aren't many red leaves.

There are many yellow and orange leaves.

I visited on a Saturday morning,

and there were many tourists and leaf-viewers, showing how popular it is.

If you get tired of walking around, there are two small cafes within the shrine,

so you can take a break there.

✅ Rokkatei Jingu Chaya Branch
→ I recommend the Hangan-sama, 140 yen each! (Buckwheat flour mochi filled with red bean paste. Enjoy it fresh!)
✅ Jingu Chaya
→ Fukure Mochi is recommended! (280 yen)
