I arrived expecting a grey giant of architecture—and instead, found spring clinging delicately to its bones.
At 1000 Trees , the cherry blossoms bloomed shyly along the edges of this surreal urban structure, their softness a striking contrast to the industrial, tree-like forms of the building. It was the tail end of the sakura festival, yet a few stubborn trees still wore their pink crowns. I wandered slowly, snapping photos between the curves and shadows. It wasn’t peak season, but it was perfectly poetic.
Tips: Visit just before dusk for dramatic shadows and softer lighting on the petals and façade. Closest metro stop is Tian’anqiao Station, and from there it’s a short walk. Bring a wide-angle lens for architectural shots—this place was built for perspective.
