Staying in a fairytale wooden cabin beneath the snow-capped mountains | Light and Clouds
During a week when all of Sichuan was melting from the heat,
we decisively escaped to Songpan to embrace spring!
Finally visited the long-awaited homestay,
one that had been bookmarked in my favorites for ages—
a cozy wooden cabin where you can see snow-capped mountains just by opening the window!
☁️ Light and Clouds—even the name alone was enough to captivate me.
Forests, meadows, flower fields, streams...
It felt like stepping right into a scene from *Heidi and Grandpa*!
🏔️ Summer-exclusive experiences
July in western Sichuan is bursting with life, with endless flower fields.
Crouch down, and you can pick wild strawberries—sweet and tart 🍓.
Chatted with a Tibetan auntie in broken Mandarin.
Met an 80-year-old grandpa who took us mushroom foraging 🍄.
Gathered around a stove under the snow-capped mountains for a yak hotpot feast and witnessed the golden glow of sunset on the peaks 🏔️.
🌲 Mossy forest adventure
A must-try! Right near the homestay lies a vast moss-covered forest—stepping on it feels soft and springy, like walking on a carpet! In the early morning, with a hint of mist, it felt like wandering into an enchanted magical forest—so surreal!
The staff gathered guests for a group hike, but since we woke up early, we asked for the route and set off on our own!
The nights here are exceptionally quiet, so silent you can hear your own breath,
as if time had been paused...
Look up, and the sky is filled with stars ✨.
