Here's a great summer retreat spot! If you're visiting Taizhou, Huangyan Grottoes is a must-visit!

During our Zhejiang trip, Taizhou was a key stop. While researching online, my husband found great reviews about Huangyan Grottoes, so we decided to check it out. After experiencing it firsthand, we found it to be the most suitable attraction for hot weather - exceptionally cool!

Originally a quarry site from the Tang and Song dynasties, Huangyan Grottoes has been transformed by modern designers. Now visitors can admire both natural cave wonders and various art exhibitions. The site regularly hosts art shows, and as a coffee lover, I couldn't miss the cave café - conveniently located at the entrance of Cave No.1. The coffee was tasty and reasonably priced (my latte was around 20 yuan), which is quite fair for a scenic spot.

We drove there and parked easily in the spacious lot. Located in Shanxialang Village, Huangyan District, it's not far from downtown Taizhou and accessible by public transport. Tickets cost 60 yuan for adults, with free admission for seniors over 70 and half-price for students with ID. The entire scenic area covers about 2km, featuring Cave No.1 and Cave No.2. The boats were under maintenance during our visit, but normally visitors can pay for a boat ride to enjoy different views.

Near the parking lot, there's a stunning sunflower field and a giant straw cat sculpture - perfect for photos! I heard there's also a nearby park, Huangyan Night Market, and even a cat café for feline lovers to explore.

Overall, Huangyan Grottoes ranks among my top three favorite spots from our Zhejiang trip. It's especially perfect for beating the summer heat - comfortably cool inside with no sun exposure, easy to explore without much physical effort, and full of great photo opportunities! Girls, this is totally worth visiting!
