To this day, I've been there so many times I can't even remember. I just remember getting off work, gathering three or five colleagues and heading straight to Shidu. Back then, we still took the green-skinned train! Now! The highway runs parallel to the river valley, offering smooth and beautiful scenery all the way...

Shidu Scenic Area is located between Shidu Town and Zhangfang Town in Fangshan District, Beijing. People's understanding of Zhangfang stems from its beautiful scenery resembling the Guilin landscape and the excellent experience of playing in the water. Some might ask how this place compares to Guilin's scenic beauty. But perhaps you're not fully aware that the Shidu Scenic Area is truly the only large-scale karst landform in northern China, and it's the reason Beijing became the first capital city in the world to have a "World Geopark" designation! Sandu, located in Zhangfang, is the epitome of this stunning scenery, and certainly the most fun part! Just these two small panoramic views are enough to illustrate the cool and refreshing feeling of Zhangfang Legu Silver Beach on this scorching summer day. Furthermore, its reputation as "a wild ferry amidst verdant mountains and a hundred-mile art gallery" is well-deserved! The winding Juma River weaves through the mountains, creating breathtaking scenery everywhere it passes. The interdependence of mountains and water highlights the majesty of the northern mountains and the gentleness of the water in the Jiangnan water towns, making them a seamless and perfect combination! Regardless of gender, age, or whether they are cubs or parents, their happy journey begins the moment they cross the suspension bridge and enter the scenic area gate. As can be seen from the pictures, there is a shallow pool of water entertainment at the entrance of the scenic area where preschool children can play. Not far away from it are several bubble machines that spray out large white bubbles. With the loud music and the excited laughter of the children, it is not difficult to hear how much fun they are having! Even the adults standing by were almost eager to join in...

The fun is already so intense just at the entrance of the scenic area. In fact, the exciting and fun entertainment projects have just begun! And these small performances are just warm-up games. To truly experience the beauty of Legu Silver Beach, the mountain—the mountain—must be walked on the cliffside glass plank road. The water—the highlight—is the rapids of the mountain stream.

First, let's talk about the mountain. Two opposing approaches to the mountain are a wooden plank road and a glass plank road. Walking the glass plank road and traversing the cliff face alone offers breathtaking views that are practically a bird's-eye view. It just requires courage and a bit of hard work. For someone with a fear of heights like me, it's just a sight to behold. For those who dare to challenge themselves and seek excitement, it's a safe and easy experience. The glass plank road looks okay, although I still don’t dare to go up. As for the wooden plank road on the cliff, it would be better to knock me out than to go up. Unconnected wooden planks are connected by steel frames and embedded in the mountain. A chain runs parallel to the wooden plank road along the mountain wall. The only safety measure is a buckle and steel cable connected to the boardwalk. Although the safety measures are absolutely rigorous, for brave tourists, I suggest you go to the toilet before experiencing such excitement, otherwise the consequences are not difficult to imagine...

Fortunately, after a few hundred meters of glass plank road, it is almost entirely wooden plank road. But once you reach Lover's Valley, you'll find a nearly 200-meter-long glass suspension bridge, the only way between the two peaks. The drop from Lover's Valley and Tianzi Peak to the valley floor is a staggering 300 meters, yet many daring visitors navigate it as if it were flat ground, truly enviable! If you're still enchanted by the mountain scenery, you can continue. However, most people, especially young people, choose to descend quickly! The reason is that visiting Legu Silver Beach isn't just about seeing the beautiful scenery; it's also about having fun in the water! Could a simple water play experience have made young people so eager to rush down the mountain?! It turns out I was overthinking it. The water play here really just starts rafting a little downstream from Lover's Valley. You won't understand the thrill and coolness of the rapid descent until you experience it yourself! It’s like when you’re climbing a mountain and you see rubber rafts piled high and filled to the brim, being transported up the mountain non-stop…

Are you just seeing the moment when you’re just going with the flow? Even though they were completely soaked, their helmets had even fallen off, their hair was wet and messy, and their makeup had completely washed off, they were all smiling! I think only they, on the rafts, could truly experience the joy and excitement at that moment!

As you drift to a relatively open area with gentle currents, an indiscriminate "attack" and a "confrontation" without "weapons" begins! Water scoops, various pressure-spraying guns, helmets, and even bare hands became the only weapons and necessary means to "attack" or "intimidate" the enemy! Truce and surrender were completely unacceptable here; come one by one, soak a pair! If you can't keep cool, you might become the target of a group attack, and who knows, you might be the main attacker in the next moment! The situation was changing in the blink of an eye, but the only thing that remained unchanged was the hearty laughter on everyone's face and the silvery goose-like laughter...
