This is my first time writing a travelogue, so I'll try to be as detailed as possible. I hope it helps everyone~~~

On Saturday night, my husband decided on a whim to go to the Daxing Zoo on Sunday. We don't have children, so honestly, we're dreading going to places with a lot of kids on weekends. The night before, we asked some families with children about the Daxing Zoo, and they all complained about the crowds. We were still nervous. But!

[Key Point: It's quite fun~ At least for animal lovers, it's definitely worth a visit~]

We weren't traveling on a budget, nor did we want to spend unnecessary money, but... some of the money I spent was heartbreaking. I can only smile helplessly.

First, let's talk about the cost of tickets. Our total budget for the day at the zoo was 751.

We were two adults in one car, and the adult tickets cost 125 yuan for two plus 195 yuan for transportation = 445 yuan [I'd appreciate it if I bought them cheaper on Taobao!]. These were all essential purchases.

I'll give you a rough estimate of the remaining costs, and I'll explain them in as much detail as possible when we get there. At the entrance, there's "50 yuan for 4 bags of vegetables," and then the animal feed costs 120 yuan to enter the park, and 116 yuan for food—a huge rip-off. The remaining water cost about 20 yuan in total.

First and foremost, [the key point is, be early, really early!]

We left from Guomao at 7:00 am and had a smooth ride all the way to the park entrance. We arrived before 8:00 am, and the gates weren't even open yet, but there were already quite a few cars lined up. Scalpers at the entrance were directing traffic = = hahaha, and then they tried to sell you vegetables! [Here's the key point] The day before, a friend told us they bought vegetables from a scalper for 10 yuan a bag. When we got there, he said two bags for 50 yuan. Since my husband never wastes money, we definitely bargained. We finally got it down to 50 yuan for four bags. After we finished shopping, the driver of the car next to us asked, "How much is a bag of vegetables?" He turned around and said, "100 yuan for two bags." We were both mortified. I have to mention that if you drive into the park, you can bring your own vegetables—just some carrots and cabbage. But if you walk in, your bag will be checked and you won't be allowed to bring anything. But I happened to put my vegetables at the bottom of my bag after getting out of the car, so he didn't notice and didn't confiscate them. Otherwise, they would have. Also, if you want to sneak in vegetables, be sure to bring plenty of carrots. You can ignore the rest, because the animals love carrots. The gates opened at 8:00 AM, and we rushed in, heading straight for the self-driving ticket check. We were told to get off the bus and exchange our e-tickets for paper tickets. Just listen to me: find a spot where the back road isn't blocked, get off, exchange your tickets, and then quickly get back in the car to queue at the entrance! We rushed non-stop. The ticket gates started letting cars in at 8:20 AM. If you queue at the gates first, the lady will check your ticket first and give you a wristband to make it easier for you to enter the park. We were literally in the first 10 cars to enter at 8:20 AM, and then! And then! We passed a group of swans first. As a result, one in front of us almost stopped to take photos, pushing down a lot of cars. We really didn't want to wait because he couldn't see anything, and there was nothing here. My husband kept overtaking until there was no car in front or behind him. It was so fun.

Because it was early and there were almost no cars in front or behind us, we didn't even reach the self-drive area where we could feed the animals. The animals swarmed over, and the park rangers were very nice. They pointed out where we could park to feed the animals along the way. I guess they didn't have enough to eat that morning, so they were so enthusiastic that our rearview mirrors were even knocked crooked. A staff member came over to fix them and told us where to park to feed them. They were very kind and nice.

I don't remember which area the "kids" in were, but they really came and harassed you, just for the cabbage and radish in your hand.

We drove around the rest of the self-drive area. Because there were no cars in front or behind us, we could take pictures or feed the animals without any obstruction or interference.

There is one more thing I want to say, haha, I forgot which area, there was an uncle standing on the side of the road with a donkey, we stopped the car and wanted to feed it, but we were afraid that the uncle would not let us, but because there were not many people around, the uncle was very enthusiastic and let us feed it, he even adjusted his head for us to take pictures, and also told me that the donkey doesn’t like to eat cabbage, if you feed it carrots, it will come to you.

Also included is a picture of a smiling uncle~~

By the way, you guys were sneaking around the zebras. I personally really like the feel of zebras~ hahaha

Okay, this is the self-driving area. That's basically it. You can look at the animals yourself. You can open the windows the whole time, but you can't get out~

Left out at 9:30
We'd already driven around here. Why do we say to leave early? Also, after exploring the self-driving area, there's a huge parking lot. Go early and park close to the entrance; otherwise, it's quite large. We were the fourth car there, so we parked right at the entrance, and the security guys made sure we park as close to the entrance as possible.

Next, we arrived at the pedestrian zone. We entered, checked our tickets, and went through a bag check. Essentially, they just opened it up for inspection. Any vegetables in it were confiscated. I put the leftover vegetables under my bag, but I didn't expect them to take them. It was just a coincidence, because I saw a lot of vegetable bags under the bag check gate. Hahahaha.

After entering, there were vegetable bags for sale right at the entrance, along with a few adorable white alpacas. We wanted to leave quickly, so we didn't feed them. By the time we came out, they had already gone home from get off work. At the entrance, there were vegetables: a large bag of carrots for 80 yuan... and other items starting at 40 yuan. I thought it was expensive, so I didn't buy any... because the bags were really nothing. Then, after walking around, we rented electric scooters for the entire day. I forgot the deposit for a two-seater scooter, which was 500 yuan, and a four-seater scooter for 900 yuan... I thought it was too expensive, but I didn't want to walk, so I wanted to rent one. My husband said no, saying he'd rather spend 500 yuan on carrots! Feed the animals!

Later, it turned out he was right. Although it's also quite large, you could consider taking the electric cart. It has stops and can save you a lot of walking. However, we didn't buy one... or even look at the price, because I was obsessed with why you didn't let me rent an electric cart. Hahaha. Sorry~

Then we went in and didn't take the train, because we had already driven around. I heard that the driving route and the train route are the same. It was also because it was too early and the train hadn't left yet, so we didn't have to avoid it the entire way. I don't know what happened next.

We first went to an ecological feeding area or something, where they feed ostriches. There was a vending machine next to it that sold ostrich food with a special spoon for them. It was 10 yuan a bag. We bought one, fed a little, and then continued walking. Further ahead was the area where they feed the lambs, alpacas, and camels. At the door, we bought a bag of vegetables for 30 yuan. Then I put the rest of the food in his paper bag, so ours ended up with more food. Hahaha.

Once again, the benefits of going early were apparent! Because there weren't many people around, right after the gates opened, the animals were very welcoming! And since there weren't many people, basically every family could get their own "exclusive" animal to feed. They'd all circle around you and eat whatever you gave them. By the time we came back from our rounds and tried to give them the rest of our food, they were already full... They wouldn't even eat the cabbage, only barely tucking into carrots. They were very unenthusiastic.

Then we just followed the signs and went to whatever pavilion we wanted to visit. There wasn't anything special.

Here's a highlight: the wild animal car. When we got there, we tried to get in line, but it was incredibly long and winding, and there were so many children. We practically walked all the way to the line. There was almost no line at all. But! [Important] The only thing worth buying at the zoo for feeding animals is the box of meat in the wild animal section. It's 50 yuan! Sell it to me!!!

It's limited to 300 bears a day, so once they're sold out, they're gone. And! ! Experience! ! Coincidentally, the passengers who bought the feeding stuff, including the two of us, were all in a vertical row. The driver only opened the window for the passengers who bought this stuff, so you can feed them more easily. The interactive bears are very smart, and the driver will drive them to your side. Listen to him and feed as much as he wants. Don't worry about what to do with the ones at the back, because they're lazy and don't interact. Basically, if you throw the meat away, you may not see him pick it up.

This bear kept hanging around us. My husband practically fed it all the meat...hahahaha

The whole ride took about 30 minutes and was quite fun. Since it was included in the ticket, it was still fun to go early. Besides, they weren't full yet.

After getting off the bus, we wanted to grab a meal, so we walked around and looked around. When we got to the restaurant, here's the kicker: I bought what was supposed to be the cheapest chicken nugget combo for 58 yuan...I hope you get the idea. The cheapest items were sold at the highest prices. My husband doesn't like these things, so he bought a bowl of noodles... 58 yuan... The amount... I think for an adult male, if he's not hungry, that's enough... Anyway, I think 116 yuan is totally not worth it. We don't like to travel with heavy loads, so we went in expecting the price to be a bit high. But I really didn't expect scenic spots to be so expensive these days?! A sausage for 20 yuan?! They usually start at 50 yuan. Oh well... it's a scenic spot, so I accept it. But on the way, we saw a family carrying several self-heating hot pots, and I was envious. There was a boat tour of the lake; we didn't check the price, but we heard that the one-time fee offered unlimited time and included food for waterfowl. We didn't go because the lake... is very small... at least the part I saw was very small. Very small.

There are elephant and giraffe feedings next to them, both are 30 yuan each. We saw that there were too many children at the giraffe feeding area, so we bought some elephant feedings, a small basket of watermelon for 30 yuan, haha, I like elephants very much~

There is also a special area where you can "buy" a small electric car, give you a basket of vegetables, and feed them. We came here very early once, and it was 40 yuan per car, it seems, and then there are vegetables and so on. On normal days, the animals there run wildly chasing you and eating the vegetables in your basket. It's very scary, hahahaha, they really run wildly behind you, your car can't outrun them, which scared us. Hahahahaha, this time I saw that on holidays, a single car costs 150 yuan with a deposit of 100, and a 2-person car costs 250 yuan with a deposit of 200. At this time, my husband's heart that never wants to spend more money took over and said he didn't want to play this anymore. He had played it before, and the animals were really fierce. He said he didn't want to play this anymore and asked me to use the money to buy souvenirs! But then again, basically, any small plush toy costs over 200 yuan. I'm a big fridge magnet fan, so we went looking for magnets, each 30 or 40 yuan, but we didn't buy anything. Hahahaha. We ended up using the money to buy a nice meal that night. Hahahaha. We barely looked at a map the entire time, just following the signs and the large map of the park. If we saw a place nearby we hadn't visited, we'd go. Then, lost track of where we were, we checked the map on WeChat and realized we'd already been there, so we headed back. Walking around like that was a bit tiring, especially for those of us who don't usually exercise, but it was definitely not impossible. We left around 1:00 PM and headed back. By the time we got back, it was already packed. The line for the miniature train was so long it looked like Xiangpiaopiao, it could circle the Earth twice. Besides walking around and looking around, if you need to queue for anything else, be sure to arrive early! Otherwise, I think a lot of time is wasted. Plus, my husband hates queuing, especially with a bunch of kids. He absolutely can't handle it. Hahaha, we don't mean any harm. He's your little angel, but he's not mine.

This is my first travelogue, so I feel like it's a bit long-winded, but I'll just keep it for now. I hope it helps.

Below are a few photos of the animals I took in the park.

This was when we drove there to feed the animal. At first, my husband said he was too ugly and wouldn't give him any food, but he rushed over, so I fed him. I took a picture and realized it was the cutest animal I've ever photographed.

Horses in the self-driving area, forgive me for not being able to remember who they are.

The monkey family in the xx pavilion in the pedestrian zone are not afraid of people~

We are feeding the bears in the wild animal zone

I'll stop here. If you've finished reading, thank you for reading~~

Oh yes, parents with children, I think you should rent a car or push the handlebars, because they are still a bit big.
