Day 1: Nanchang-Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden

, Chinese Academy of Sciences 1. Voyage

It was another trip to go, and I only took a leave of absence on July 9, temporarily looking for a destination, looking at the weather, checking air tickets, and was very pleasantly surprised to find that Nanchang actually had a direct flight to Xishuangbanna, and the price was not expensive. And the "Longing for Life" I was watching recently was also filmed in Xishuangbanna, and as soon as I told my daughter, she immediately agreed.

Immediately check the strategy, set the itinerary, book the air tickets and hotels in one night, and we will set off on July 11!

12:10-14:50 Nanchang to Xishuangbanna, Sichuan Airlines flight 3U8329. There are rumors on the Internet that "three pounds of fat as soon as you enter Sichuan Airlines", and they all say that Sichuan Airlines' meals are good, but we haven't met them. At the time of the meal, I just gave out a bottle of water, a bread, a pack of shredded beef, and a pack of candied dates. Of course, compared with other companies, Sichuan Airlines' bread is slightly larger, and the shredded beef taste is good, reflecting the characteristics of Sichuan. So I remind everyone that you still have to eat well at home, or bring some food, airlines can't count on it.

2. Charter car

After arriving, it is a pre-booked Didi pick-up, the airport is still quite far from the Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the drive takes about an hour and a half, and the fare + high-speed toll is a total of 300 yuan.

Before coming, I looked for a few chartered car quotes, and I thought it was a bit expensive, so I decided to go to the local area and talk about it, if it really doesn't work, I can also rent a car and drive!

On the way, Didi driver Xiao Chen took the initiative to ask me if I needed to charter a car for the next few days, and I sent him my itinerary and asked him to quote a price. Xiao Chen is also easier to talk to, and the price quoted is better than the other companies I inquired about, so I made an appointment to charter his car for the next few days. Haha, everyone is a real person, I like this kind of bargain without bargaining, it's easy to save trouble and effort.

3. Wang Lian Hotel

The Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is the largest botanical garden in China, and I came for Wang Lian in the garden, so I must stay at Wang Lian Hotel!

Wang Lian Hotel is located in the center of the West District of the Botanical Garden, and I booked the "poolside double room" on China-TravelNote, with a room rate of 460 yuan/night, including botanical garden tickets and double breakfast.

The room is purple, not luxurious, but also simple and comfortable, with a small balcony.

Poolside refers to the hotel's swimming pool, not Wang Lianchi, haha! It was already five o'clock in the afternoon when the check-in was completed, and the children changed into swimsuits and couldn't wait to play in the water.

The pool surrounded by tropical plants is about 1.4M deep and about 30CM shallow, suitable for children.

4. Dinner

The restaurant in the hotel does not serve dinner, only one "Fuji Mingya Restaurant" in the scenic area is open, about a ten-minute walk from the hotel.

This restaurant focuses on barbecue, and there are also some Dai meals, without rice and noodles. We ordered barbecued lamb skewers, beef skewers, chicken tendons, one boiled jelly, one lemon grilled fish, and one pack of roast pork. The meat of the skewers is not tender, and the boiled jelly is not mixed with jelly and is delicious; The grilled fish is average, but because it is tilapia without small spines, my daughter ate quite a lot; The roast pork was made by Huang Lei in "Longing for Life", so I ordered it to try it, but I only ate two bites, which was really not delicious. My son didn't eat a bite of the above food, and finally I ran to the back kitchen, asked the chef to find a bowl of rice, and fried a sausage and egg fried rice to deal with my son. The consumption of this restaurant is not high, ordering so much, and adding two bottles of Coke, a total of only 144 yuan, which is very cheap. The staff of the scenic spot will also come here for a late-night snack at night.

V. Night observation activity

After dinner is the highlight of the day, the night observation of the botanical garden. It's best to check the weather before coming, as night observation activities will be canceled if it rains.

I called the Botanical Garden (I don't remember the phone number, you can call the front desk of Wang Lian Hotel to ask) before getting on the plane to book a night observation activity. The fee is 300 yuan for 5 people or less than 5 people (children under 1.2M are not included), and if there are more than 5 people, an additional 60 yuan will be added for each additional person. In fact, it is more economical to find someone to join the group after arriving at the hotel, but there are also advantages to forming a group alone, that is, you don't have to take care of others, you can control the speed yourself, ask as much as you want, and stop as long as you want.

It usually doesn't get dark until 8 p.m. in Xishuangbanna, and night observation activities start at 8:15 p.m. The guide will come to the door of Wang Lian Hotel to pick us up, and then we will go dark and hike in the botanical garden, hahaha!

At first, the children were very uncomfortable with the dark environment, but following the guide along the road found all kinds of small insects and small animals, many of which we rarely see, and got up with interest, walked for more than an hour, there were no street lights, but there were fireflies flying; There is no noise to explore the mysteries of the jungle quietly.

Great experience, I touched it with my own hands to know how piercing Wang Lian's thorns were; I saw it with my own eyes to know how strong the camouflage of stick insects is; learned to distinguish between male and female fireflies; saw the complete Big Dipper; I also accidentally trampled a few snails to death, because they crawled into the middle of the road and were everywhere, and we couldn't avoid places where there was no light.

The guide, Sister Coco, was gentle and patient, and the children liked her very much, so I told her that I would ask her to be a guide when we visited the botanical garden during the day the next day. Day 1 ended perfectly!

Day 2: Visit the Botanical Garden in the morning, return to Jinghong city in the afternoon (Daixiu, Night Market)

1. Breakfast: The buffet breakfast at Wang Lian Hotel is not bad, there are many types.

2. Wang Lian

Wang Lianchi is next to the hotel, and the shore viewing is free, and if you want to walk into the pool or sit on the lotus leaves to take pictures, you have to pay 50 yuan/person. I made an appointment with the guide Coco last night, and we met at Wang Lianchi at nine o'clock in the morning, and the staff was still preparing when we walked over after breakfast. We were the first to arrive, because there were no other tourists, so we could take pictures and concave shapes, and we would queue up if we were late!

The lotus leaf has a load capacity of 40KG, and only children can sit on it. One person pays, and the whole family goes into the pool to take pictures. In addition, last night, we have seen Wang Lian day and night, front and back.

3. Botanical Garden West District

The Botanical Garden is divided into two areas, the west area is artificially planned, and the plants are distributed in various small gardens according to different types and themes, which can be visited on foot or by battery car. The East District is a pristine tropical rainforest, and it is very far from the West District to the East District, so you must take a battery car.

We have to visit both districts, the guide fee is 260 yuan, and the battery car is 100 yuan/person. I don't want to send photos alone, so I was lazy and went directly to the circle of friends to take screenshots.

4. Botanical Garden East District

Many people only visit the West District and do not go to the East District, plus it started to rain when we finished visiting the West District, and when we arrived at the East District, we only saw another tourist besides us.

The eastern area is divided into two parts, one is a green stone forest, the other is a tropical rainforest, and the children are also interested in all kinds of caterpillars, spiders, snails, and butterflies along the way. Return to the hotel to check out, and then have lunch in the hotel restaurant, finally there is rice and stir-fry, fish-flavored shredded pork, soup baby cabbage + rice, 106 yuan.

The driver came to pick us up at two o'clock, and we originally planned to stop by the Dai Nationality Park on the way back to the city, but because of the rain, we changed our plans and went directly to the inn to watch the "Dai Show" performance in the evening.

5. Accommodation on the second day

Because I wanted to visit the night market, I stayed in Gaozhuang West Shuangjing the next day. Gaozhuang West Shuangjing is an emerging tourist area in Jinghong City, with hotels, inns, shops, restaurants, and Starlight Night Market here. I booked a well-received "Q Plus. Xishuangbanna Mandala Inn", located not far from the gate of Gaozhuang Xishuangjing, less than ten minutes' walk from the night market.

The decoration of the inn is Dai style, the scale of 6 floors, the room facilities are quite new, 168 yuan including double breakfast, although there are not many types of breakfast, but the taste is actually good, the bedding is very comfortable, and free pick-up service is also provided, and I was given a pack of handmade brown sugar when I checked out the next day, which was heavy like a brick. It's really cheap and sufficient, and I was so moved to tears.

6. Dai Xiu

Frank Degon, the chief director of "Dai Show", has directed many famous shows such as "The Dancing Room" and "Han Show", and many people came to see him for his fame. I originally had the attitude of being able to see or not, but it happened to rain and I didn't go to the Dai Nationality Garden, so I had plenty of time, so I added an itinerary.

The ticket was booked by the driver, and the location in Area B was 288 yuan per person (my son didn't need a ticket), which was a little cheaper than on the group buying website. The performance location was in Wanda Resort, and the driver dropped us off at Wanda Plaza for dinner, and then we walked to the theater next door. Wanda Plaza in Xishuangbanna is very small, slightly depressed, there are few restaurants to eat, we found a rice noodle shop to eat casually, and then went to the supermarket to replenish some snacks.

The performance started at 20:15 and the ticket checkout started at 19:40, there were not many people, there was no one in Area C, and Area A was also empty. We sat in the second row of Area B, there was no one in the first row, basically no different from sitting on the edge of the stage, and I could touch the actor with my hand, and my daughter said that she looked at the actor awkwardly several times. More than an hour of performance, national art combined with lighting and sound effects, dance, acrobatics, diving, sand painting and other performance forms, the first three rows were given raincoats, we were drenched several times, and the children thought it was very fun.

7. Starlight Night Market

The Starlight Night Market is a golden and lively scene with the Shwedagon Pagoda as the background, and the outer circle is a catering stall, mainly barbecue stalls and drink stalls, and the price is similar to that of Nanchang; The inner circle is a variety of handicrafts, clothing, souvenir stalls, the overall price is not expensive, cheaper than other tourist cities. There is a well-known Manfeilong roast chicken restaurant at the entrance of the night market, which was closed when we went at nine o'clock.

Day 3: Pu'er Red Panda Manor

The Red Panda Manor is in the Rhino Ping Scenic Area of Sun River National Park in Pu'er City, and it is not in the regular travelogue of Xishuangbanna, which I accidentally found through the parent-child travel guide, thank you to the author of that guide, and thank you for my wise decision, this point can be said to be the biggest surprise of our trip.

It is more than 100 kilometers to drive from Gaozhuang to the Red Panda Manor, and there is a section of winding road on the highway, which takes two hours. We set off in the rain at half past nine in the morning and arrived at the gate of the scenic spot at 11:30, the car could not enter, and the hotel sent a battery car to pick it up.

The rain didn't stop that day, and we met two tourists who came with a group, soaked wet, and took our battery car to the mountains for dinner. Tell me all the way, it's raining heavily, it's cold and not fun, don't go. I firmly said that I had booked a beautiful villa on the mountain, and I must go. Ha ha!

When we arrived at the hotel, the room was not cleaned, so we went to the restaurant for lunch first. At noon, there is a buffet, 98 yuan/person (free for son), which is very good value, and the environment, specifications, grade, service and dishes are all five-star.

There are many parent-child experience activities in the hotel, and many families stay in the mountains for two nights. It was a bit of a shame that I only booked one night.

I signed up for the "Touch the Beast" activity, and I began to think that 50 yuan/person was the cost of touching rhinos, but I didn't expect that it also included the whole explanation of the main scenic spot of Rhino Ping, close contact, and the cost of feeding red pandas and rhinos, which was too value-for-money. Although it was raining, we were in high spirits throughout the whole process.

The forest single-family hexagonal villa I booked is 728 yuan/night, including scenic spot tickets, breakfast, and battery car. The room has an oversized terrace, living room and bathroom, double bathtub. After the rain, the two children took a hot bath together to get rid of the cold, the temperature on the mountain was much lower than the bottom of the mountain, and on a rainy day, the hotel also opened the electric blanket on the bed, there was no moisture at all, and the room was dry and comfortable.

Hexagonal villas are all big beds, and if you want to book a twin room, it is an ordinary log cabin. There is also a family room.

There was no buffet for dinner, so I ordered a large portion of rice noodles and a golden mushroom fat beef for 116 yuan, which tasted good. I didn't expect that there were still many families on the mountain on a rainy day, the restaurant was very hot, there was no place to go late, my daughter and I sat at the bar to eat, my son was attracted by the children's playground, and he ran to play after eating two bites of rice noodles, and he didn't need a seat at all.

Woodblock print experience, I didn't buy it in the package, it was given by the hotel separately, a small surprise! We took the finished product home and it looks great on the wall.

Day 4: Red Panda Manor in the morning, Wild Elephant Valley in the afternoon

I'm leaving the red panda manor today, and I agreed with the driver to pick me up again and again, because I was reluctant to leave! It was almost 12 o'clock when I finally went down the mountain.

1. Lunch

We had lunch on the way to Wild Elephant Valley, and ordered three wild vegetables that we had never seen before, from left to right, they were leek fried milk mushrooms, cold four-edged beans, and beet tip soup. A total of 97 yuan. The people here are real, and the portions are generally very large, and they can't finish eating.

2. Wild Elephant Valley

Wild Elephant Valley tickets are 30 yuan/person, and other paid projects such as ropeways and Asian elephant bases can be selected. Our daughter didn't want to take the ropeway, and we didn't want to go far in the hot weather, so we played in the snake lizard garden and butterfly garden not far from the entrance, and also watched a song and dance show and an elephant show, these places alone were enough for my son to play for half a day, 30 yuan was very good value.

Before the elephant performance, many people went to sit on the elephant's trunk to take pictures, 30 yuan sat for less than five seconds, 100 yuan can ride an elephant to walk about ten meters, I think it's so expensive! Later, I saw that riding an elephant in the Dai Nationality Park was 60 yuan once. Feeding elephants is not expensive, 20 yuan a large pot of cucumbers, which is closer and more fun than feeding elephants in the zoo.

3. Accommodation

Tonight, I stayed at the InterContinental Xishuangbanna Resort, and I booked a 3-day and 2-night parent-child package, 1,299 yuan, including two nights' room rate, breakfast, two parent-child projects (archery and rainforest adventure), a grilled fish package, a chinchilla afternoon tea, and free airport pick-up.

The hotel seems to be hidden in a tropical rainforest, the area is quite large, and we relied on the map to find out the location of the pool and restaurant on the first day. Our room had a mountain view, and at night we could see the sky full of stars, which was better than the garden view. The toiletries are Agraria's lemon verbena series, which smells good.

But in terms of service, Intercontinental is still slightly inferior to Red Panda Manor, I reminded twice when I placed an order and checked in, "with children, please prepare children's toiletries", but did not take the initiative to deliver them, and finally I called again after arriving at the room to urge them to send children's bathrobes, slippers and toiletries. And only the first day was sent, and the second day was still not.

4. Dinner

There are Chinese restaurants, Western restaurants, and Dai restaurants in the hotel, and we went directly to the Chinese restaurant for dinner to eat the grilled fish included in the package, which tasted good. The portion was enough for the three of us, and the vegetarian tripe inside was delicious, and we added another serving after eating.

There are big white geese, black swans and ducks in the pool next to the Western restaurant, and the children saw them for the first time, and they were willing to return to the room until dark. I met a big snail in the corridor and looked at it for a long time. Just be careful of mosquitoes and spray more mosquito repellent.

The hotel's swimming pool is open until 9 pm, go early.

Day 5: Dai Garden, InterContinental Hotel

1. Breakfast

Today we had plenty of time, so we slept until we woke up naturally, and then went to have breakfast.

The hotel's buffet breakfast is open until half past ten in the morning, which is really suitable for lazy sleepers. In the morning, peacocks would come out for a walk on the lawn next to the Western restaurant, and we went late and only saw the peacocks in the cage. But it doesn't matter, there are also big white and little black! Half of the bread in the restaurant was taken by the children to feed the geese, and these animals had a really good temper and did not go crazy by the children.

2. Dai Garden

After breakfast, go to the Dai Nationality Park, the ticket is also booked by the driver, 20 yuan ticket + 40 yuan battery car = 60 yuan/person.

The consumption in the Dai Nationality Garden is not high, and they have bought ethnic style clothes for their sons and daughters, and they can be directly delivered home by express delivery after buying dried fruits. I came here mainly to participate in the Songkran activities of the Dai people, and there are two sessions a day, the first one is at 13:30 and the second is at 15:00. I spent 50 yuan to rent a set of clothes, a basin, and a pair of slippers, and the basin should be rentable separately, without asking about the price.

It is said that if you eat in the garden, you can ask the restaurant owner to go to the gate of the scenic spot and bring people in with the car, so as to save money on battery cars. But we didn't plan to eat inside, so we took a battery car for sightseeing.

3. Afternoon tea and rainforest adventure

Although we only played one attraction in the Dai Nationality Park today, our itinerary was actually quite busy.

Because we had made an appointment for afternoon tea and rainforest adventure at the hotel, as soon as the water-splashing activity was over, we didn't watch the cabaret performance, so we rushed back to the Intercontinental Hotel.

4. Dinner - Manfeilong Roast Chicken Restaurant

After the Rainforest Adventure, we went back to our room to rest for a while, and then went to Gaozhuang again!

I didn't eat Manfeilong roast chicken last time, and as a foodie, I am always unwilling. This time we arrived at 18:30, there were not many people in the store, we sat on the second floor, we could see the river view opposite, the small tables and chairs were short and cute.

The three of us were not strong in combat, so we only ordered the signature roast chicken, the grilled pork ribs recommended by the driver, the local characteristic rotten vegetable egg soup, and mango juice, a total of 146 yuan, of which mango juice was particularly cheap, only 20 yuan for a pot. The signature roast chicken is really very impressive, charred on the outside and tender on the inside, very flavorful, even my son who usually doesn't eat meat has eaten a lot, highly recommended! Grilled pork ribs are not good, too big, hard and tasteless, failure; The rotten vegetable egg soup is very delicious, but the vegetables in it are not picked, directly connected to the rod with the leaves and cooked together, the rod is relatively old, and there are thorns, the result is that the soup is drunk, and there is still a pot of vegetables left, if you only pick the leaves to cook the soup, it will be more delicious, and it will not be wasted so much.

Day 6: Hotel stay, return

On the last day, I didn't go anywhere, went to the hotel in the morning, and went home in the afternoon.

I slept until I woke up naturally as usual, had breakfast at ten o'clock, fed the geese, and went to play the children's archery in the package.

In fact, there are many parent-child projects in the hotel, even if you don't go out, you won't be bored just playing in the hotel. The children's club is now closed on weekdays and only on weekends.

Flight at 15:35 pm, check out at 13:00, hotel car takes us to the airport. InterContinental Hotel is very close to the airport, less than 20 minutes by car. Banna Airport is very small, there are several restaurants in the check-in hall, and there is only one after entering the security check, and the price is quite expensive.

The driver, Xiao Chen, gave me a jackfruit, I said I couldn't finish it, he said to taste it, and if I couldn't finish it, I would throw it away. So which line? I found a hotel and took two packing boxes, all of them were taken apart and brought back to Nanchang, which was really sweet. Isn't it witty?

Conclusion This trip is my first trip to go out on a trip, and it can be regarded as a successful completion of the task! All three of us got a workout.

Xishuangbanna is a good tourist destination, the tourism industry is very mature, the services of accommodation, chartered cars, and attractions are in place, the locals are very rustic, and they have not blushed or mixed their mouths with others throughout the whole process, and they have a happy and comfortable journey. Focus on praising the driver Xiao Chen, who is hardworking and on call.

You basically don't have to buy your own water to drink, because each hotel will give away enough mineral water every day, especially Red Panda Manor and Intercontinental, with 6 bottles of water per day.

Fruits are very cheap, and the mangoes bought on the first day are 10 yuan and three catties. Every breakfast or buffet has a variety of fruits, and some rooms also give fruits, so we haven't bought fruits ourselves later.

Red Panda Manor is a surprise and two nights with children is highly recommended. And arrange it after the botanical garden, otherwise there will be no freshness in going to the botanical garden.

There are many other attractions in Xishuangbanna, such as Keno Cottage, Wangtianshu Scenic Area, Manting Imperial Garden, Primitive Forest Park, etc., I didn't go not because those attractions are not good, purely due to personal preference and time relationships, my itinerary is just a reference, you can choose freely.
