Walking 8 kilometers at the foot of Dali Cangshan Mountain, you will encounter an ancient Fengyangyi tea horse road and two ancient temples with a long history. Harvest a good couplet: Reading is a pure land everywhere, and the closed door is a deep mountain.

2020 is destined to be an extraordinary year, and due to the impact of the epidemic, this summer vacation has been postponed a lot compared to the past. My son, who is in high school, only has three weeks of summer, and has a lot of homework during the holidays and has to take online classes in the third week to prepare for the provincial examination that will be held at the beginning of the semester. So I chose the second weekend, a day with less homework, to go on a hiking trip to Cangshan near the homestay.

An ancient road: The Fengyangyi Tea Horse Ancient Road

starts from the wish-free homestay, passing through Dajingpan Village at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, Follow the center of the village to the south for about 2 kilometers, and you will reach the Fengyangyi Tea Horse Ancient Road.

This ancient tea horse road was newly built in the Han Dynasty and flourished during the period of the Dali Kingdom of Nanzhao. The ancient road is now more than 1,900 meters long and 3.5 meters wide. In the middle of the road is a long bluestone slab, which was called "horse introduction stone" in ancient times. Both sides of the ancient road are stone and earthen walls, and the weeds growing from the earthen and stone walls fully illustrate this after the vicissitudes of wind and rain.

Fengyangyi, located about 1 kilometer north of Taihe City, the capital of Nanzhao Dali Kingdom, means a city built on a slope. Fengyangyi is historically a post station of the ancient tea horse road, because this place is also mainly fired bricks and tiles, clay pots, so there is a saying of "brick kiln", and later it was renamed the current "Fengyangyi" with the meaning of "Danfeng Chaoyang".

Fengyangyi Tea Horse Ancient Road, and because of the prosperity of straw hat trading in history, it is also called "Straw Hat Street" by the locals, until now, on the roadside stone benches of the ancient road or on the leisure platform of Guanyin Ancient Well, there are still local residents weaving straw hats while pulling home. Walking into the residents of straw hats and consulting carefully, I learned that better quality straw hats cost 50 yuan a piece, and it is not cheap to bargain with them in the local dialect. Looking at their kind and happy faces, it is estimated that they are just for a feeling, and it doesn't matter how many they can sell.

Fengyang-eup Tea Horse Ancient Road, which still retains the oldest Guanyin well, twin wells and ancient villages, etc., Of course, there are also tea horse ancient road museums, gable Buddha niches, ethnic craft experience, horseback riding and other projects worth visiting and experiencing.

Two ancient temples: Fazhenji Temple and Heding Temple

1. After a year, visit Fazhenji Temple again: about 100 meters away from the back mountain of the Tea Horse Ancient Road, There is a thousand-year-old temple Fazhen Temple with a long history, which is quiet and has been a royal temple in history.

Fazhen Temple was founded in the early Tang Dynasty and was one of the earliest Buddhist temples in Dali, built by Shi Jin, the second generation of Nanzhao, so it is Nanzhao State Temple. To the west of the temple is the ruins of the ancient capital of the Nanzhao Kingdom, and to the south of the temple is the ruins of Taihe City, the capital of the Dali Kingdom.

Due to historical reasons, the temple was dilapidated by the end of the last century, with leaking roofs, ashes, ruins, temple gates collapsing, and tourists worried and frightened. It wasn't until 1995 that Master Chuxiong traveled here, witnessed this scene, and was full of emotion, so he went to great lengths to restore the Fazhen Temple as before.

I vaguely remember that on March 14, a year ago, I met Master Yinjue (formerly surnamed Qiao) in the temple with my friends, and drank tea with him and chatted about the history of Fazhen Temple. He is a resolute, calm, confident, and brave man who dares to face suffering, and this is really a quiet place. “... Don't fight with the world, everything is very indifferent with the Buddha in your heart, do things well, the mind is the Buddha, and the Buddha is the Buddha in the heart....".

Now, when he visits Fazhen Temple again with his family, he coincidentally meets Master Yingjue again. After three or five pleasantries, the master brought the fruit to us to taste. While standing in front of the hall and chatting with Master, a couplet at the door completely caught my attention, "Reading is everywhere in the pure land, and behind closed doors is the deep mountains." It is really meaningful to read it several times.

Maybe it's because the previous tea chat is still unfinished, or maybe it's because we got to know each other more deeply. Master took me to explore the ancient stone stele of the temple for the first time, one stone stele had the words "Kangxi Fifty-One" and the other had the words "Founded in the Early Tang Dynasty". More is also incomprehensible, in general, only the stone monument bears witness to the long history of Fazhen Temple.

Quietly listening to Master's insights, isn't this "reading is everywhere in the Pure Land, and behind closed doors is the deep mountains"? Near noon and lunchtime, under the repeated retention of Master, I had a vegetarian vegetarian meal with them (there were only 2 people in the entire monastery).

During the meal, I learned that the food and use in the temple were basically given to them by people from nearby villages or tourists who came to visit the temple, and the little master had not been to the market for more than half a year. It is a small regret that I did not bring some daily necessities such as rice, oil, salt, etc. to the temple, so it is best to donate a few hundred yuan and let them buy the necessary items themselves.

Let go of the desire to surpass yourself, just because you and I are mortals. Be kind to others, and it will be better to be kinder. Upward, good, the world is wonderful because of you.

2. Three visits to Heding Temple, the scenery is still the same: the ruins of King Kong City at the foot of Cangshan Mountain in Dali are already visited for the third time. From the Fazhen Temple at an altitude of 2,060 meters, take the small road and walk about 2.5 kilometers to reach the top of the Buddha's summit.

There is a small viewing platform on the north side of Heding Temple, with a very wide view, you can see Haixi Dajingpan Village, Hilton Hotel, Haixi scenery, etc., and Cangshan Mountain in the distance, Erhai Lake and Haidong scenery. The southeast side is the site of the King Kong City ruins, and the ruins of the city wall are still clearly visible.

History records that when the Diamond City was built, the Tang Dynasty bestowed a "Diamond Sutra" and enshrined the "Diamond Sutra" in the city, so it was named Diamond City. King Kong City is a military fortress with a high location and a wide field of view that is very suitable for defense, and in the early stage, Taihe City was more considering its military functions and uses, and the famous Tianbao War was commanded here.

According to historical records, the King Kong City in Taihe City was the summer palace of the Nanzhao period, and the core location of Taihe City was King Kong City, which was a small city in Taihe City. The King Kong City was built on the peak of the Buddha, an irregular circular city, and the city was built with the summer palace and training platform of the King of Nanzhao, which was renamed the White King Hall in the Qing Dynasty, which is the famous Heding Temple.

The harvest of this Cangshan hike:

1. At the foot of Dali Cangshan Mountain, hike 8 kilometers round trip, with an altitude of 2060 meters ~ 2230 meters, It takes 5 hours and the hike is generally difficult.

2. A family of three, use the free time of summer vacation to hike outdoors. First of all, I exercised my body, enhanced my physique and willpower, and secondly, I enjoyed the infinite scenery all the way along the way, and there was also "reading everywhere in the pure land, and the closed door is the deep mountain", and traveling is also a good learning.
